Poor
I decided to try the 12th St. Cantina after reading several positive reviews in various travel books and online. I am beyond disappointed! The food was not even close to authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the grilled chicken with black bean burrito platter. There was literally 1 piece of chicken in the entire burrito. The majority of the burrito was filled with a bean-like paste, which tasted as though it came straight out of a can. I threw away the majority of the platter; it was that awful! The only bright spot was the Mangoade.

Old School Philadelphia Mexican
12th Street Cantina has locations in the basement of the Bellevue Hotel and in Reading Terminal - It's one of the few Philly Mexican restaurants from before all the authentic places opened in South Philly. It's totally Americanized Mexican with big SF style burritos - But they are also one of the few places in Center City that offers cuban sandwiches.
