23rd St Cafe
Posted by Rebecca Nicolas on 08/07/2014
About 2 years back, a couple of my friends and I wanted to explore jazz cafes in Philly. We wanted something non-modernized with a relaxing 1940's twist to the atmosphere. We came across 23rd street cafe and what a winner! Not only did it have a positve atmosphere, but you saw all types of people you could have never imagined would be a part of the experience. I especially love that there's an open mic allowing folks to showcase their talents passing no judgement (although everyone who performed an act did incredibly awesome)! I am a little stingy for noy sharing this with EVERYONE, but I must say it's my personal spot (wink wink). Thank you for this cafe. Wish it were opened to the public on more days, but for now...I will enjoy my Tuesdays!!!

I've been to this jazz spot 2 times, and each time I had a ball. The first time I when was many years ago on a friday, it was great than. I went a few months ago on a tuesday night and it was out of sight. I'm going again tonight with a friend that loves jazz. I know she gonna love it too!
