    Get the seitan wings!

We went on a Sunday early evening. The waitstaff was not overly friendly but courteous enough. We are vegetarian and we love hitting up mexican restaurants. The place is highly vegetarian and vegan friendly. We ordered the vegetable tortilla soup, the seitan wings, the nachos, and the mexican vegetable pizza. Nothing was bad. However, the only thing that stood out to me was the seitan wings. Probably better than anywhere else in Philly - not oily, not dry, just the right amount of crisp and the perfect balance of sweet, smoky and spicy. My eating partner liked the soup while I thought there was something off about it compared to what I've had elsewhere. Overall, I thought the food was average - average meaning good (not very good, not excellent). I think the veg mexican pizza could be made better by adding refried beans to the base before topping with veggies and cheese. I would go back only for the seitan wings, which were stellar.

    Love this place!

Adobe is one of my favorite restaurants in Roxborough. Their mexican food is delicious! My friends and I go there often for pitchers of margaritas and delicious fajitas, quesadillas, or tacos! Love this place!

    Skip this restaurant

We brought our family of five here on a Friday night. Haven't been there in a few years. We were extremely disappointed. The food was just OK. Fajitas came and the shells were hard. The toppings were jammed on a small plate and were not enough. The other entries were not flavorful, very bland and dry. The waitress seemed to forget us. We got our apps before our drinks. No checking back after food arrived. Finally, the bill came and there was an 18% tip. No one mentioned that that was happening and when our credit card slip came, the entire amount plus tip was on the amount line with the tip field blank. I wonder how many people double tip??

    Highly recommend !!

Was at Adobe on Thursday night ! Excellent experience. It was very busy for a Thursday (which is always a nice sign at a restaurant). Started off with a white sangria and my friend got a mango margarita. Both delicious! We started with the steak tips (cooked just right and an amazing dipping sauce). I got the Mexican combo and my friend got a taco salad. Both very nice portions ! Server was friendly and helpful and very attentive! Overall great food, great atmosphere, and great service! Try it on a Monday or Tuesday night (pitcher of Margs or beer and 2 entrees for $35 ! Can't beat it !)

    lots of lousy food

We haven't been to Adobe for a few years and we returned the other night. We won't return again. The food was over cooked and generally poorly prepared. The quantity was huge, the beer was good, the service was fine. The food was lousy.

    Good food, cool place

The tacos and chicken enchiladas are great! The servers are always friendly and the atmosphere is really cool too. They probably offer hard shells since some people request them...i'd recommend soft shells since actual tacos in mexico only are served on soft corn shells.

    Not Mexican!

I had steak taco's, I figured it's hard to screw up. The waiter asked, soft or hard shells. I haven't had hard shells in years, so I go for it. $15.00 for store bought pre-formed shells, like Taco Bell! For $15.00? Dry rice and beans. Are you kidding me? Flavor was minimal and what was there, was not good. Let the guys doing the dishes cook. I know you have Mexcan's here, let them cook as they eat at home!
