    Rude Service

I have been to Alma twice (went back again because I thought I must have had a fluke experience the first time.) Both times the wait staff was unbelievably rude! The first time the hostess kept us standing without a table for almost 20 minutes, and ignored us when we kept asking why we were left standing with open tables everywhere. The second time was just as bad! The food was pretty good, the beef was delicious, but with the way we were treated, I'll never go back.

What a nice spot for a drink!

Met out of town friends here, just for a drink. Nice feeling of old Havana, tasty bar food, just right for a snack. Such a pleasant and helpful waitress. Left my bag by mistake. Greeted with "thank goodness you are back, here it is, we tried to catch you but you were gone". Thanks so much, appreciated your kind concern. We will be back for dinner, loved the food and especially the Mojito.

    Great for groups

I took a large group of out-of-town colleagues to Alma de Cuba on a Monday night and we had a wonderful experience. As a local, I tend to think of Alma de Cuba as a little too "Steven Starr" (expensive and overrated), but it was the perfect location to bring our guests. The food was fabulous and the waiter was terrific. In fact, people were still talking about the service days later. I had a sour cherry caipirinha that was out of this world. The chocolate cigar dessert was also a big hit. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion. As a side note, I've also been to Alma de Cuba for lunch, which is great if you want to try the food but not spend as much money.

    A very pleasant Experience

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. I had the pastachio Lamb- it was amazing! The atmosphere is cozy and sleek. Very charming and a great location.

    Don't believe the hype

I went to Alma De Cuba the other night with a friend who was in town. We were both really disappointed. My friend had the shrimp with crab meat. The shrimp were totally over cooked. I had the seared tuna. I was served a terrible cut of tuna. It was chewy and did not taste fresh at all. Both meals were cold and seemed as though they had been prepared in advance. The fired plantains were delicious. I was definitely disappointed since I had heard so many great things about this place. I definitely won't be going back.
