First time here. Everything was top notch. The food was absolutely some of the best tasting and best presentation I have ever experienced. The drinks were also on par with the whole experience. One of the best places in the city

Although the ingredients for the courses of the dinner were individually authentically Cuban, how they were combined didn't mesh. The ingredients were somewhat fresh, but the acidity was overwhelming and almost made all 3 courses inedible.

I came to this restaurant with a large party for a 21st birthday dinner. I have to say that we were all very impressed with both the service and the food. We, of course, made a reservation for a party of 14. When we arrived, we informed them that we wanted to wait for our entire party to get there before we were seated. The hostess eas very accomodating. When the party was complete, we sat. Our server was on us and taking drink orders with a couple of minutes. I ordered the Robusto Mojito, which was good, but a little sweet for my tastes, so I switched to Dos Equis after. The server took our order and all of the food was brought out exactly when it was supposed to be. Timing was pretty much perfect. I orderd the Smoked Marlin tacos as an appetizer, The Sea Scallops with a side of grilled asparagus for my entree, and for desert I got the Tapioca Pudding. The Tacos were amazing. The fish was perfectly prepared with just the right amount of heat. The entree, Sea Scallops was out of this world. They were the second best Sea Scallops I have ever eaten in my life. The first being a small restaurant in Connecticut. They melted in my mouth with a buttery richness that makes me want to go down the street right now and order more. The side of Asparagus was prepared well too. Just the right amount of crunch. Desert was the only downside. I am not sure what made me order Tapioca Pudding, maybe I was feeling a bit nostalgic, but I was jealous of some of the other deserts that I saw. The Pudding had a good enough flavor, but it was a bit watery for my tastes. My girlfriend got the Chocolate Cigar desert. That was very good. Overall an excellent dinner which set up the rest of our night perfectly. Highly recommended.

After never making it to Alma, my boyfriend and I went during restaurant week. The server was knowledgeable and attentive. The drinks were amazing, I loved my mango martini and my bf loved his mojito. The price was right although it was a fixed menu, and the food was perfect. All in all I'd say we would go back to try other dishes.

The bar scene is crazy and too noisy if you're over 35. The drinks and bar food are excellent if you can get there in the off-hours. Was not as impressed by the dinner menu.

I have been to Alma twice (went back again because I thought I must have had a fluke experience the first time.) Both times the wait staff was unbelievably rude! The first time the hostess kept us standing without a table for almost 20 minutes, and ignored us when we kept asking why we were left standing with open tables everywhere. The second time was just as bad! The food was pretty good, the beef was delicious, but with the way we were treated, I'll never go back.

Met out of town friends here, just for a drink. Nice feeling of old Havana, tasty bar food, just right for a snack. Such a pleasant and helpful waitress. Left my bag by mistake. Greeted with "thank goodness you are back, here it is, we tried to catch you but you were gone". Thanks so much, appreciated your kind concern. We will be back for dinner, loved the food and especially the Mojito.
