Good eats. Cozy and friendly atmosphere.
The Ethiopian food is very tasty, although selection is limited. Probably should steer clear of the American cuisine: My friend doesn't like Ethiopian and ordered a turkey sandwich, which she intensely disliked. I've been twice and the servers were very friendly and attentive. Space is limited, although I hear you can combine tables on the second floor for larger groups. But perfect for intimate one-on-one chats!

Great food excellent staff
First time for Ethiopian food. Went with a friend who had lived in Ethiopia. The food was very good but not as spicy as I had expected. The staff (just one man up front) was extremely friendly, service was fast, and he was willing to describe and inform of Ethiopian customs and food. A really great place, very small and a little strange since it is reallly a coffee shop. Excellent place especially for the price only $10 for a filling meal with sides.

A true "diamond"
I was so excited to find Ethiopian food in Center City that I was sure it would be a disappointment but not only was the service outstanding, the food was fresh, delicious, authentic and well prepared. Their injera is the best I've had - not over- or undercooked and with just the right amount of springiness and that tangy sourdough-type flavor. Really, I can't say enough good things about my experience here.

The best Ethiopian cafe ever in philly
I have taken my friends over this small bright two floor cafe located in down town, we have the best service amoung those ethiopian resturants we have been before and I was so happy to see the city paper review on Thursday edition that was truly Almaz Cafe. Almaz cafe keep up the good food and good services you brought to down town.
