Always Fantastic!
I moved to Philadelphia from San Francisco....another amazing "foodie" city. Amis embodies an energy that few restaurants in the nation have. It's all about food, wine, friends, and verbous conversation. If you want a dull time for a dull paillette, this is not your restaurant. Iron Chef worthy! Love it!

Too Much Hype
Went to Amis on a Sat night- looking forward to it since it gets such glowing reviews. Food was completely so so. Meatballs that were so highly recommended were totally ordinary. Milanese pork chop was pounded til it was hard and too thin and was served with a fistful of arugula for 18.00. It wasn't the price but the nerve. Ordinary pasta dishes were had by my friends. Altogether a very disappointing meal and with so many other great places to eat that probably don't get all the glowing hyped up reviews, that's a shame. The waiter, Eric, was really good, though. Very pleasant and personable and efficient.

blaringly loud
Food was very good, especially pastas. The room was so loud we could not hear ourselves or our waiter who really wished she was somewhere else. It was like being tortured and taunted in order to taste some good food. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Disapointing
Where do I start...ice old reception by the front of house staff and our waitress who rattled off specials and left my boyfriend and I guessing what she actually said. Upon return she rushed us through our order. We ordered four pre-pasta dishes, all of the dishes came out at once so we had no room on our table. The mussels were average at best. The Eggplant and meatballs were very good. Both pasta dishes we ordered were blah. She asked us how the pasta was before we even tasted it and she walked away before we provided her with a response. I ever got to tell her that my pasta was undercooked, not al dente, borderline crunchy. The music was blaringly loud and my boyfriend compared it to eating at a loud gastropub. We ate a $100 speed-dinner and both left the restaurant with a bad taste in our mouths.

Sad
My friend and I had subpar food. The restaurant could not come up with one good dish. Very loud.

There are much, much better places in the City!
A friend picked this place to try for brunch, and boy, what a disappointment...overpriced, bland, boring food that has no resemblace to Cuccina Romana it is supposed to emulate. The apple walnut French toast was sugary sweet, while the mushroom frittata was oily and greasy. The bruschetta was boring, reminescent of a chain restaurant. Tiny portions (is this brunch or tapas), and a snotty waitress who was gone for the majority of our brunch (and the place wasn't that busy) complete what was otherwise a pretty poor dining experience. We definitely will not be back.

Weak main courses
We liked the first courses, but the main courses were very average and not worth the money. Liked the dessert: olive tort. The design is very industrial and the music is a bit noisy. Maybe would come again for the anti-pasti.
