Food here is usually good with the occasional exception. Like when they use old lettuce or bag lettuce on hogies and/or gyros. That's just lazy . Inside needs some work.

Bala pizza is the best! Whenever I order out I call them. They are extremely hospitible, and treat as they're very on family. The prices are not very high, which is great for my family. If you don't like Bala pizza you don't like me!

The food is ok but definitely not nutritious. The only reason I'd go here is b/c there's no other place near my work for lunch, except a Kosher cafe that is closed half the time. I had more than 1 incident where I'd call to order take-out, they rudely hang up on me before telling me the price, I wait 15mins until it's time to pick up the food, just to go there and be told that they never made my food b/c they were out. During 1 of these times, the lady hung up on me before I could ask how long the wait was or how much it costed. It took me waiting & then heading down to the place to attempt to pick up my food, before they told me that the fried zucchini I'd ordered was no longer on the menu...along w/ 1/2 of the appetizers...but they never made a new menu. They didn't even offer me a discount or anything complimentary. I did not feel appreciated as a customer(I'd go there fairly often, since it's near my work) so I left & purposely walked into the Kosher cafe across the street to spite them. W/ my coworker's urging, I later called them to complain about the lack of service. This time the woman who'd hung up on me before answered & said that I could get something for free next time. The next time, I there & the guy claimed he didn't know what I was talking about. The next time, the lady answered & I reminded her about the free item. She said "uh, when you come to get your food, we'll deal w/ it then" not telling me upfront that it would be free. When I went there, I got my $6 sandwich for $4...that's not free nor much of a discount! I placed an order today & the guy was gruffy & mumbling & not the most courteous for dealing w/ customers. He hung up before telling me the price. When I went there, he said they were "out." He claimed that he didn't have my phone# to call me back & tell me, but I think he only used this excuse b/c he was there during the last time this happened. I got annoyed & reminded him that this wasn't the 1st time this has happened to me. He didn't even pretend to care. He said, "Look, I'll make something else & you can pay for it." I said that the least I could get is a coupon or a discount. I also told him that I didn't know if I wanted to come back here, & he didn't care nor try to retain business. His flippant I-don't-care attitude is not a good thing to have when you work w/ the public. When I worked at pizza places & even McDonalds, I was always super perky & cheerful & helpful to customers...why can't I expect the same back?
