We were pleasantly surprised to find a Mexican restaurant where good food can be shared. The food, while perfectly presented, was cooked perfectly and enhanced our appetites but was rather pricey. After five tapas, we two were still hungry. Drinks were generous and exceeded expectations. Bathroom, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired-dark room and sparse-needs some work. Waitress was courteous, helpful and attentive. We will return but only for for a snack. Pleasant atmosphere.

We were a birthday party of 8 eating at Bar Ferdinand last weekend and I was shocked at the poor/rude service. First, you're not seated until the entire party is there (which is understandable if the table is not ready, but it was); second, they served the birthday dessert before we even asked for it; third, the hostess announced to the table that "the next group will be here in 15 mins" when we hadn't even been there for 2.5hrs. A complete faux pas of restaurant service. The food was ok, but servings ridiculously small for the price. Good to try once, but not worth the hype.

i recently discovered the newest gem on Norhtern Liberties Walk. I'm talking about Bar Ferdinand, the new spanish tapas restaurant. Chef Blake Joffe came and personally greeted our table, I expressed to the chef that the food was very authentic (I had spent 4 months in Barcelona), he told our table that he had studied in san sebastian spain for 9 months. That is what makes Ferdinand the most authentic and delicious Spanish restaurant in Philly. Go for the marinated seafood salad of the crispy duck confit. There are no misses on the menu..
