I just had our Executive Staff luncheon catered by Barell's Fine food. The food was outstanding, we had a group of 35 individuals, and every person was satisfied with the quality of Food. As always the Franco family didn't let me down, thank you so much. Dionisio M.

We used to eat at Barrel's a few times per month because the food had usually been OK, and was recommended by our friend. For the last several months, we have had bad experiences at Barrel's restaurant. The food has been horrible and untasty, continuing to go down hill. Sometimes the wait staff is rude (having a severe attitude) especially if your food needs to be sent back. Sometimes when we called for a reservation, they simply rushed us off the phone. We are very easy going but we don't waste our hard earned money eating at Barrel's anymore and recommend that you do not waste your money at Barrel's either. And, there is nowhere to legally park in that neighborhood. One evening we returned to our car which was parked on the city street. We had a $51.00 parking ticket. The parking ticket cost us almost as much as our meals that evening ($73.00 plus tip)! One time we parked where we also thought was OK in that neighborhood, at the curb. When we came out of Barrel's there were cars double parked next to us blocking us from going home. We had to call the cops to get them to find out who double parked blocking our car. That took another hour and a half almost two hours waiting for the police. Never again.

I am not from South Philadelphia but a good friend of mine who is recommended this place. I thought it would be a positive experience but boy was I wrong. I ordered the chicken and shrimp scampi and it was loaded with butter and tasted very salty. My husband ordered the veal which was better than my meal but came out cold. My friend felt so bad that she recommended Barrel's. She said that she hasn't eaten there in a long time but the food was usually really good. I am not sure if they are under new ownership or what but this place really went downhill.

My family and I would order from Barrel's at least two or three times per month. The past three times we ordered the chicken was dried out and fires were soggy. It also took a very long time for the delivery guy to arrive. When I called and told them about it they were not accomodating at all. We will never order from there again.
