Beck's Cajun Cafe

I visited New Orleans once years ago and the food was EXCELLENT!! Probably the best food I've had in any city or state I've been to. Was in Philadelphia last week and we stopped in the Reading Terminal and saw the Beck's Cafe and ordered some breakfast food etc. Very good and probably the closest to Cajun food in New Orleans! Wish we could have stayed longer and tried a bit of everything they had. AND, the bread pudding was delicious!!

Great food. Friendly Staff. This is pretty much as close to home as it comes. Thanks Y'all! Oh, PS... Try the bread pudding. It is scrumptuous! Absolutely delectible!

Just like other places in Reading Market, the food is a bit on the pricey side for what you get. While the quality of the food is good, they recently decided not to serve tap water. $8.50 for a sandwich after tax and they can't give you tap water...and it's a cajun place so the food has some kick to it. You must buy bottled water for $1.75. Is it a big deal to bring your own water or buy it somewhere else for less? No. It's the principal of the thing that gets me.
