Looking for a restaurant you can feel comfortable in after a Villanova game and shopping ....this is it. You can come here for fabulous food and service which is exactly what we needed after a long day in Phili and 2 1/2 hours from home. No place to change for an evening out but still felt very comfortable here and able to have a special dinner. I was here 4 years ago and raved about my gnocchi dinner and had not had the opportunity to go back until now. We split the gnocchi dinner as an appetizer between four of us and it was as fabulous as I remembered. Had a veal dish this time, as did my husband and they were both delicious. I think anything you order here will be terrific. The service is as if you were in a 5 star restaurant but you don't feel uncomfortable at all. Thank you again Mezza Luna for a great ending to our day in Phili!!!

First when you walk into Mezza, you feel you are home. Everyne is so nice there & makes you feel so comfortable! I could go on about the food forever. It is always so fresh & authentic, just like you're eating in Italy. The gnocci melts in your mouth like pillows of yum. The shrimp app in dijon cream is delicious. Branzino is always cooked perfectly, the best I've had ever!! They have a small bar, but they are so nice & accomidating, you can even bring your own bottle of wine. To top it off, their desserts are great & you can end the night with complimentary limencello or cremencello (only had it here & it is amazing). So what else can I say....did you make your reservation yet???

I made special arrangements to take my wife to a nice dinner. Unfortunately, our experience at this restaruant was not a good one. We were seated and then asked to move to another table because of a large party coming in. They made a mistake in my wife's entree and we had to wait for the right ones to be brought out. I ordered veil which was raw and did not look cooked at all. I had 2 bites and brought the rest home for my dogs. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and uncomfortable. When I got my bill, I couldn't even look at it because I knew that I could have bought many Christmas presents for the cost of a meal that I didn't even eat or a dining experience that I didn't enjoy.

Mezza Luna is the best restaurant in South Philly by far. The best gnocchi ever. The best branzino in the city. The best rack of lamb. The veal is amazing. If you're visitng Philly then you must make this place a must do.

This without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in the entire Philadelphia area. Although we live 35 miles away in the burbs, we make it a point to go there as often as possible. Canio and Pete, the owners, always make you feel like you are family. The food is outstanding, and they have the best gnocci we have ever eaten. especially if you get it with the Gorganzolla sauce. All of their dishes are generous, and their sauces are to die for. We have a lot of relatives in NY who have dined with us there and all tell us this is better than any they have been to back home. The only problem is that once you dine there, no other Italian will measure up, and you too will be making regular pilgrimages there.

The Greatest restraurant in South Philly! Order my special...Grilled Octopus, Gnocchi appitizer, and the stuffed veal chop. I guarentee your mouth will be having a party!

This restaurant is a must for Italian food lovers. The gnocci is the absolute best. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service very professional. Highly recommended dining experience!
