This place is literally a block and a half away from my house and I've walked past it so many times. Looking at this place from the outside, you would NEVER expect the food to be this good, I was very hesitant to try it but my boyfriend was in the mood for sushi and I was feeling lazy, so we tried it. I was blown away. The atmosphere improves 100% once inside and the owner/server we met there were probably the nicest people ever. They have fun, creative sushi names that the rolls live up to. We also ordered an avocado salad with that ginger dressing and it was delicious. My favorite part, however, was the steamed shrimp shumai. Although the little dumplings were small, they were terrific. I plan on coming here again and again and telling all of my friends about it.

The sushi here is creative and delicious, and the man who runs it has to be the warmest, friendliest person in the city. Been here around ten times and always have a wonderful evening. Love you Big Eyes!

I placed an order for take out and both items were wrong. The (raw) fish was not as tender as I am used to eating. The gentleman that took care of me was super nice so I am sad that I was not satisfied. The place also smelled of oil and fish; probably because it is a small spot.

We walked by this place several times and it was never crowded. We were happily surprised by the innovative rolls, the service, and the quality of the sushi. We really liked the you the man too and the yo sexy roll. The couple working there took a lot of pride in the restaurant and brought free dessert around for everyone.

Big Eyes is not the fanciest of sushi spots in Philly, but the value is pretty amazing. The fish quality is excellent (and with a sushi restaurant, isn't that all that REALLY matters?). Furthermore, they have a range of maki rolls, from simple (tuna, yellowtail-scallion, etc.) to quite inventive (try the You the Man II). They also have some traditional dishes (chirashi, etc.). You will not be disappointed.

Had heard that this was a great new place, but also that they keep changing their prices and menu. Went last night and found the menu very limited (almost only sushi and rolls). Altho the prices are moderate, I am not happy with $2 miso soup that tastes like detergent and $3 salad that was pathetically small and average. The sushi, when it finally got to the table (my date's meal arrived 10 minutes before mine) was average on all counts. I may return but would not recommend it.

I am very satisfied with the sushi's quality they offer and the price is very cheap . I've never eat sushi as good as the one they offered at the restaurant . Big Eyes is the Best
