The Best Hummos and Falafel in Town
Bitar's is the best reason for not eating a cheese steak!

Middle Eastern in the Italian Market
Bitar's is a combination restaurant/grocery store with branches in South Philadelphia, West Philadelphia and Mount Airy. The food is your standard Meditteranean fare with a Lebanese accent - falafels, chicken kabobs, etc. No atmosphere to speak of, just a few high tables in a dining room but it's rather charming actually. The Angelo Cataldi sandwich is great!
