its a shame!! wasted space
It is a shame that this place doesn't live up to the potential. They renovated the front of the restaurant over a year ago but kep all the old tables and chair that wobble around. I've seen people smoke around the grill. People woud love a place they could get home cooked comfort meals.

Good food, great service, dismal setting
Boccella's is one of my favorite local light fare places. The food is thoughtfully prepared, exhuberantly served and it's cheap. Their omelets are The Best. You must try their western omelet with tasty home fries. Lunch/dinner platters and sandwiches are good, too. But the restaurant is old and dirty. I always pretend that I am elsewhere (like a clean environment) when I eat at Boccella's. I don't think it would cost a fortune to spruce-up the place. BTW, the food at Boccella's is much better than the 401 Diner which is down the street in my opinion.

Not only luncheonette
This is a diamond in the rough! The back of the restaurant is a dining area serving wonderful meals. Great Italian food at reasonable prices. BYOB and enjoy!! We go there every other week and it's consistently good. Don't let the luncheonette atmosphere that you have to walk through deter you from getting to the dining room and the real meal. Mangia!
