service and food are not the same @ all

Fairmount loc. is the best, the food & the service the 52nd food is good but service is always unfriendly and they never have everything you want to order. South street is the most subpar food but good service and nice seenery. De is tasty also. I just want to say great restaurant guys, keep up the good work Fairmount!

    fantastic

i ate from bottom of the sea when it first opened on Fairmount Ave, I live really close... so i was buying their food every Friday, awesome! just awesome food! now that a couple years have passed, they are starting to slack off... sometimes it seems like a spoonful of garlic butter sauce on the crabs, sometimes my corn is burnt and the dungeness crabs portion looks smaller. please stay on top: you still have your regulars loving your seafood!

    Amazing!

My husband and I ate there last night for the first time - the food was out of this world! The mini crab cakes were the best we have ever eaten. Will will definitely be dining there again!

Not the same on South street save your $

You ever taste something that you couldn't wait to I tried the Bottom of the Sea on South st despite the warning from family & friends. The atmosphere in the bar area looks like a reject from Gilligans Island meets the 70's show basement. I waited from 8:50-9:30p, on a slow Thurs night for Corn Broccoli & potatoes, Green beans - about 20 beans for 5.95 and the worst mashed potatoes I have ever tasted also 5.95. The corn was frozen so it was mushy and everything needed to be seasoned with something other than garlic, no fear of vampires here. If you want 40th & Fairmount don't expect the same speed, friendliness or taste on South St. It is not the same, if they're owned by the same people someone must have been let go or needs to be.

    will travel

I travel from Jersey City, N.J. just for the Dungeness Crab Combo, you should consider a franchise in New Jersey. This seafood is the best I have ever tasted, never mind the crablegs that I eat myself to no end for. So it is worth traveling from N.J. to PA. Thanks to family living in P.A. for introducing me to the Bottom of the Sea!

    The Best of the Best

I have been buying seafood from Bottom of the Sea since they opened in the vacant lot on Fairmont Ave. There are many imitators but none come close. They serve the freshes seafood platters and they are nice size portions. Bottom of the Sea you are the best. Please don't change a thing....
