Take-out
OKAY! I have never experienced an eat-in situation, but as for take-out it is the best. The portion size is great, I can usually eat twice on the one meal. Calling ahead is definitely a plus and the way I go. The seafood has been fresh, quite tasty, and plentiful.

If it weren't for our courteous server, we would have left.
This was our poorest dining experience in years. We didn't complain while there (too fearful of being rude), but feel we should share. But first, some positives: 1) Our server Amber was lovely - courteous, smiling, and mostly attentive even though she was swamped. If not for her, we would have settled-up and gone elsewhere without finishing the meal. 2) The glass brought with my bottled beer was perfectly chilled and frosty. 3) The portions were large, which could appeal if that's what you're into. We’re not, but to each their own. Now the negatives: 1) The decor was depressing, like it came from a "bad seafood restaurant" decoration kit. 2) The food was greasy, salty, and overcooked. My crabcakes were so soggy that at first I didn't realize there were two of them, since they were mushed together into a greasy, salty pile. 3) The women's restroom made me uncomfortable: paper products gone or nearly gone, and mold around the sink hardware raising questions about cleaning frequency. Since the men's restroom was closed, there was only one toilet and hand-washing sink available for the entire restaurant. 4) Shortly after our food arrived, construction or repair work began in the men's restroom - hammering and loud drilling like a jackhammer, four feet from my head. Seriously. I hope this was an emergency, because otherwise there is no excuse for doing it at 9pm on a Friday. By this time, the crowd was winding down, so they could have continued operating with just the one restroom available as it had been, putting off the noise until the morning. 5) The busboy had his pants hanging below his bottom, with his underpants exposed. I understand that this is cultural nuance, a style, but since we were already grossed-out, this didn’t help. 6) We observed another server raise his voice while arguing with a customer. If this had been an altercation in public, he would have been in the right to raise his voice, but in the restaurant, it made us uncomfortable. 7) To top it all off, when we presented a certificate to pay for part of our meal, they would not accept it at first. It took a lot of discussion for them to accept it, and each excuse we were given was a violation of the certificate company’s policies (I have since checked). I think we would have continued to argue as long as it took to get it accepted, because the experience had been so bad that not getting the expected $25 credit at that point would have added just too much insult to injury.

The Best Seafood n Philly
When I first went to the one down the bottom it was just a shack. I was a lil worried bout eating from outta there but I did. When I tasted the food I had to have more. The food is delicious and the best I've ever tasted. Since the shack this business has expanded so much and no matter which Bottom Of The Sea I go to their food is the truth. Keep up the good work.

Unpleasant experience
I ate at bottom of the sea on wed 8/13/08 The service was not good. We had to ask the waiter 2 wipe our tables twice, the table next to us was dirty and it remained that way, the floor around us had shells and butter on it, it was hot, I was given the wrong food then when it was done over my fish wasnt done, the waiter was walking around on her cell phone when I was trying to get her attention to get a refill on my drink which I never got, the waiter also packed my food up to go and set it on the dirty table next to us and she walked around the whole time complaining about her job.

Hottest addition to South Street
My husband & I have had dinner here twice, both times were a nice experience. The plates are portioned well for the price. I dont have any thing negative to say besides , the fact they should expand their menu to extra sides to build your own combo...... that would be great! Would definately recommend to all sea food lovers. C&D Thompson

The new one on South Street
Last night me and my lady went to the restaurant on south street. The food was good (crab meat and mussel pasta ) . The service was kind of slow and the waiter we had was very forgetful. Little thing like it took him to refill my soda, didn't offer no dinner rolls, I damn near ate all my fries and had to ask him two times to bring me some ketchup. Like I said the food was very good but service was slow
