    Great Burger!

If you have't been there in awhile give it a try! The place was remodeled last year and it looks great. Menu changes up seasonally. Service is speedy and friendly.

    Too Much Butter!

I went to Bridget Foy's with my mother for Easter brunch, which was lovely in theory, but kind of a bummer. It was really loud, to begin with. They sat us at a high-stooled table by the bar, rather than in any nicer seating at the other end of the restaurant. This would've been fine if there hadn't been a whole mob of drunken Easter brunchers yelling about the Phillies spring training on T.V. They had a specials menu, which we ordered from. I'm a vegetarian who isn't fond of dairy, so I ordered the "Omelette with seasonal squash, zucchini, and goat cheese", but without the cheese. What I got was a huge buttery heap of egg with two tiny slices of zucchini in the middle. Period. I guess the chef takes any order to hold the cheese as a request to butter it up, because it was literally sitting in a pool of butter. It was so not worth the price.

    Dependable

Bridget Foys has always been dependable over the years for a relief in the neighborhood. It won't wow you but it's a good choice.

    Great value!

Had dinner there last night. everything was delicious. Had the short ribs with risotto-perfect for a chilly fall night. Started with ham and white bean soup, also quite tasty. Wife had jambalaya cakes for first course and black cod for a main. We shared everything. Nice selection of wines by the glass. they also had Three Philosophers Belgian style triple ale which I've never seen in Philly before. Shared a pumpkin cheesecake. Good service, nice looking place, great value!

    Ehhh

I went there for lunch the other day and it was really just blah... i had a chicen sandwich and my date had the burger, which he really liked, but what does he know? everything was just ok, right down to the service, i'm not in a rush to go back.

    Not bad.......

The food portions and flavors are great. Avoid the cheese plate unless you need a good laugh. There were 6 of us and ordered the full 5 cheese ($15)...the waiter said it would be enough for all of us. When we got it there were 5 tiny and I mean tiny peices of cheese paired with different items like a drop of honey, half a fig....we all started laughing when it was brought out. The service was ok, we were not demanding but whenever we asked for something the waiter seemed put out. What is really nice is they have a 3 course meal for $30 with nice portions. I would go there again simply because it is close, the food is good esp for the price.

    Why Bother

The food was OK. The service was OK. But, with all the great food choices in Philadelphia, why bother coming here. I won't be going again anytime soon.
