    Worth the trip

Bubble House is a relatively inexpensive place to have an interesting meal. We went last night, and the three us had spring rolls, Thai chicken curry, and hanger steak. It's eclectic, in other words. The service was attentive, good-humored, and friendly. And they accept Restaurant.com coupons! It helps that it's within walking distance of anywhere in University City. This was my 3rd or 4th time there, and I'll go back.

    Still Can't Understand Its "Charm"

I've been living in Philadelphia for 2 years now, and every time I go to the Bubble House, I always ask myself why I keep coming back. The service is always poor, regardless of how many people they've recently added on as a part of the wait staff. My friends and I always joke that, to be hired, there must be a requirement that one has to have an uncaring, rude, lazy disposition. The food would is sometimes decent, but I give it 2 stars because satisfication derived from a meal here is really hit-or-miss. Often times, appetizers intended to be served and eaten warm are brought out as cold as the water. And for an Asian restaurant, the food is relatively bland. Still, though, it's the Bubble House. To all those who live in the University City area, I think you can sympathize with me when I say that no matter how bad our experiences are every time, there's still something that makes us go back repeatedly. Subpar service, mediocre food, relatively low value for what we pay, and still a plethora of regular diners -- Hats off to the Bubble House for being able to pull off such a feat.

I so wanted to love this place.

Unfortunately I can't, at all. I have tried to eat here or take out food on numerous occasions, and I have only found two menu items that don't disappoint- bubble tea and vegetarian hoagies. Otherwise, not good at all, for food quality or value. I just took out veggie dumplings, which were stuck together and crispy on the edges, which indicates that they've been sitting around. And there were only 4 dumplings, for $5.99. I got the tofu pesto salad once and got a hoagie/salad meal on another occasion and the salad was tiny and not fresh at all. Bubble House, please increase your quality and quantity! I want to love you!

    horrible service

The first time I went there was to get the bubble teas, because I have heard so much about it and after I had it I don't know why people make a big deal out of it. The service is subpar and the waitress gives you such an attitude that I don't ever want to go there again! She made me the wrong drink and when I told her, she asked me "what is wrong with it", she did make me a new one but she was soo rude about it and when I thanked her, she didn't look at my face. poor service and who wants to put up with that!

    Don't bother.

I went in for a take-out tea and also wanted to buy a pastry from the cold case up front. When I asked for a specific piece (it was one further than the one closest to the girl at the counter), the girl said it "would be a pain" to try to get it. She begrudgingly retreived the piece for me then proceeded to be curt & act annoyed. She even went so far as to tell one of the other female servers what I asked her to do, and they proceeded to stare and shake their head at me. I made an effort to thank her for making my drink and getting the pastry I requested, to which she replied "uh, huh." If she hadn't made my drink right in front of me, I wouldn't have consumed it for fear that she may have tampered with it. I used to work at a sneaker store and if I ever gave someone an attitude because they wanted to see a shoe, even if it was a pain for me to get, I would have been fired. This was not the first incident I've had with the poor wait staff at Bubble House. I will never go again.

    Decent food, poor service!

Upon waiting to be seated despite the numerous vacant tables, we were finally greeted by a rude waiter. It took close to a hour to finally receive our entrees. The few tables surrounding us also had to patiently wait. However, the food was decent but the poor service ruined the entire dining experience.

    Poor service

The entire place is just off the chart negative when it comes to the environment. There is no real front entrance instead you wander in only to see the dissapointing looks on the patrons faces with no wait staff to be found. When someone who works there finally acknowledges you, they take you to every room in the place trying to find a clean table only to make you wait in the crowded isle with your privates facing someone while they are trying to eat while they attempt to clean off a table after realizing there isn't a clean one in the entire place. I could write a novel on everything wrong with this place, but to save you time... the wait staff is one of the most mediocre I've ever seen, the bubble tea tastes somehow stale, the food wasn't actually that bad, but it would have to not only be free, but beyond five star to make me want to live through the waiting ordeal ever again. I was there an hour and a half and it took me five minutes to eat. I felt robbed when my conscious made me give a bad tip or any tip at all. The waitress also forgot what we had ordered, then argued with us about it after a food runner brought it out and hour after ordering.
