Best restaurant in Philly
After a few visits Buddakhan has become our favourite spot for special occasions -food is always great with plenty of healthy choices and service-very professional and friendly, without too much familiarity. They certainly know what they are doing. We love the calamari appetizer-get the small size- enough for 2, and their sides of eggplant and wasabi mashed potatoes are to die for. For drinks we like the tickled pink, but Geisha is even better. Sorbets are perfect, but my absolute fav is the chocolate pagoda-enough to share and take home. Absolutely the best in the city!

Once was enough
Pretentious, bland, overpriced food, but very attentive service. Visually striking although I do wonder if a restaurant in India with a huge crucifix of Jesus planted smack in the middle would go unremarked the way the oversized Buddha in this place does.

Go for drinks
The drinks are excellent, but the menu is not very exciting. The tuna was bland, and the sushi roll was pretty generic as well. The wasabi mashed potatos did not have a kick. The decor was alright. I think the best feature is the waterfall wall in the entrance. So go for drinks if you are in the neighborhood but not worth the trek when out of town.

Heaven on Earth
My sister took me there for my birthday, when I walked in I forgot I was still in Philadelphia,. I felt like I was on fantasy Island, the look and feel of the place is amazing. The egg rolls with pulled pork was the begining of the best dinner of my life, The sea bass is a must!! and the lamb chops were like eating the most tender filet minyon, but better!! the sweet potatoes were so smooth, it's indescribable, If you want to do something nice for yourself and have a meal you will surely never forget you must go!!!! Thank you Steven Starr!!

Pretty good but somewhat of a letdown
Went last night, and we were seated at the white couch, which was a great seat. Perfect for a date. All our appetizers were good, especially the crispy prawns. However, the ginger dumplings tasted like any other corner chinese restaurant's. Major letdown. The best of the dishes we had was the teriyaki salmon. The lobster fried rice was amazing. I love that they give you so much food, unlike most upper scale places. I will definately be back!

Awesome
Truly one of the bast restaurants I have ever been to - if not the best. And I have been to a lot of places. The food is like heaven, I never knew food could be so good until I ate there. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff are truly proffessional and actually really kind. Amazing place. Has become my holiday staple.

I know why Buddha smiles.
A spur of the moment visit to Buddakan turned out to be one of the happiest restaurant encounters in quite some time. We were seated at the "community" table and everything from the drinks to appetizers and a wonderful fish entree served with fresh crepes and watercress was sublime. By all means try the tuna tartare! The chocolate bento box dessert was shared, the six offerings can easily serve two or more. The dessert menu also boasts several excellent ice wines that served to enhance our chocolate indulgence. It is easy to get carried away here and that can be costly. Transcend! In any case, fine food, expertly prepared and presented, accompanied by a genial and knowledgable service staff combine to create a dining experience that approaches nirvana. We exited smiling.
