Excellent "Cheap" Chinese Food
Having grown up in NJ and NYC, I like to think that I know good, cheap, Americanized Chinese food - and Chef King exemplifies those qualities better than most Philadelphia chinese restaurants. If you're looking for something different, go to Chinatown. But if you want to have classic comfort Chinese food than this is the place for you. Everyone who works there is really nice - and they really seem to appreciate your business. I highly recommend you give Chef King a try.

Good neighborhood Chinese restaurant
It's lousy weather outside, and you're too cold/lazy/sick/etc to even venture a few blocks to Chinatown. What is a Northern Nowhereite (* neighborhood N of Spring Garden, E of Broad, W of No Libs)? Order from Chef King. This is simple Chinese comfort food made in a hurry. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 15 minutes, and the staff is pleasant. Prices are really good, food is stick to your ribs good. If you're looking for gourmet, this is not the place, but it's the essence of Chinese-American takeout. I recommend the tofu dishes especially.
