    Solaris is hard to replace!

Solaris was awesome and everyone knew it would be a hard act to follow. To say that CH7 has fallen short is an understatement. Original menu was great, but has since changed becoming pretentious and overpriced. It is always way too loud and almost impossible to have an audible conversation over dinner. Staff seems more concerned with flirting/hanging out with each other than paying attention to the patrons. CH7 one saving grace is the outdoor seating which is missing from almost all other Chestnut Hill establishments. Once cold weather comes around and , that area is closed off, I'd skip CH7, for there are hardly any other redeeming qualities...

    Expensive drinks and Average food

This place is not worth the hype. Very high drink prices and VERY average food. Everything is overpriced. Nice purple shirts.

    Don't order drinks

We ate outside in a recent evening. The setting was great, but the drinks were not. I tried several reds finally settling for one that was not quite as harsh as the others. They tasted like they were sitting out for days. The on tap beer selection was limited and not impressive. The food? My margherita pizza was OK. More basil than a couple small leaves would have been nice. My friend's pizza was pretty good. The service was good -- they tried to please. And prices were very reasonable.

    Great neighborhood spot!

Love this place! Great beers on tap - all local craft beers which my husband LOVES. The pineapple cocktail tasted fresh and delicious. The menu is nice and inexpensive. The pulled pork nachos are delicious and something different than your standard nachos. Calamari was amazing - sweet and spicy. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great (Sarah). She was knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. It is pretty noisy but not intolerable. I did hear someone say they were talking about putting sound-proofing materials on the ceiling. We finished our drinks out on the pretty patio and overall had a great time. Will definitely be back!

    No Clue

Went there with a client, found the place extremly noisy, couldn't hold a conversation, both had the Jambalaya,if you like ketchup and bait shrimp and not much else, then that's the place for you, I wish them well, but they have no clue!

    Dissapointing

I have lived in Chestnut Hill for about 5 years and cannot believe that Chestnut 7 hasn't made more of their opportunity to out do the old Solaris Grille. I was so excited to try this place... but sadly the whole experience was dissapointing. The Cobb Salad was a watery, tasteless blend of ice burg lettuce, some red onion slices and blue cheese. There might have been a piece of bacon in there too. My boyfriend's meal was the "BYO" burger. Yup, he should have brought his own. Their version was the saddest burger I've seen in a while. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion. Just a patty on bread with the 2 toppings he chose to pay .75 extra for. The fries were pretty pathetic too. Skinny, bland, and less than generous in terms of portion size. Do yourself a favor and go next door to the Chestnut Grille -- yes, the ambience may be lacking there, but the food is sure to be better!
