Chestnut Grill & Sidewalk Cafe

we were served cold and hard bread. Spreading the butter on the cold hard bread was no good. The bad part in this experience was the fact that we asked the waitress to being warm bread. Her response " no we don't do that, because we don't have time". Are you serious , you don't have time to please the customer and throw the bread in microwave for 10 seconds. Wow! that's horrible customer service. Won't be going back there again.

I'm always surprised that this isn't the busiest restaurant in Chestnut Hill. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Chestnut Hill. While it isn't the fanciest, the most romantic, or the most gourmet, it is consistently wonderful to say the least. We go all the time to eat and to enjoy the beautiful bar. The food is reasonably priced, delicious, fresh, and generously portioned. The service is always pleasant, and it has a nice atmosphere. This is the place where we take our friends or go when we want good comforting food. Best bets: The burgers, the crab cake sandwich, the salmon club, and the salmon entree are all our favorites.

My best friend and I have adopted the Grill as our go to spot for brunch, lunch, dinner or any other excuse we can find to go there. The food is always the best. The coconut shrimp are to die 4! They are a must have. I love the outdoor eating area but the indoor seating is just as charming. This place is a jewel in the neighborhood!

We live in the neighborhood and could go to any of fifteen restaurants but almost always go to the Grill. The food is always good; the specials add a nice variety; the soups are especially nice and the atmosphere is warm and charming. We are grateful for the many years that the restaurant has been in business and hope them much luck in the future.

We heard about Chestnut Hill and the Chestnut Grill through a friend. We've never been to either, but we had a babysittter and needed to get out. We had a perfect "date". The town was nice, but the meal and atmosphere here topped the day. As suggested by our waitress, we started with the Coconut Shrimp. Best I've ever had! We will be back.

We were directed to this restaurant by another store in this charming neighborhood, which was listed as one of the seven best urban neighborhoods in America. This restaurant was great. Interesting eclectic American menu, nice crowd, great server and great outdoor patios. Both couples shared different entrees and all throughly enjoyed. The best was the reasonable price. Located in an historic hotel. Recommend highly.
