Chinese Delight

This place is great - nothing fancy but just what you want when you want good, quick, not-too-expensive Chinese food. Try the Singapore Noodles for something different, but all the standards are great too. I also think their fried rice is better than average.

Chinese delight has the best chinese food around.... dont be put off by the outside appearance or the lack of atmosphere, the food is phenomenal

So, I'm a high shcool student and, like most HS kids, I like chinese food, and I need it delivered b/c I don't have a car. The phone calls do sometimes end awkwardly, but it's not a big deal, just hang up and get over it. The food is very good. Even if they don't deliver it until about a half hour after I ordered (in their defense, I call during dinner and order a lot of food, so it's obviously going to take some time), I've never been delivered cold food. Major plus. The general tso's chicken is amazing. I've had better at China Garden (which is in Garrett Hill) but if you like the spicy red peppers, Chinese Delight is your place. The meat dumplings are also good but a little too oily for me. Egg rolls are the best I've had. Fortune cookies aren't bad (not as good as PF Changs's, though). The rice is sticky, for those of you adventuring into chopstick usage. Overall, it's definately my favorite nearby chinese place.

The Cabbage mushroom and bean curd in brown sauce is the best thing ever! I found the second review on here hilarious because it spoke of the delicious food but the awkward phone calls, so when I called the first time for take out I laughed out loud after I hung up b/c the phone call did end very awkwardly. And then today my husband called, and the same thing. So, to sum it up, great food and, yes, very awkward phone calls. LOL.

My husband and I and our group of friends have been coming to this place consistently for years! The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is terrific! For example I LOVE their hot and sour soup but don't like onions and the woman who is often our waitress always remembers without me having to say anything to keep off the scallion garnish! I've never had a bad meal here, and I can't rave enough about how nice the people are. We call the place "CD" short for "Chinese Delight" and it is important part of our Friday night rituals... or pretty much any other time!

The food is really, really, good and it is delivered very quickly. However, and I don't know if it's because their asian, but the phone call always ends akwardly.

Love it, have been coming here for years. Very good quality food.
