an evening that could have been good
Told we had to wait 20 min for a table though there were only 4 occupied tables. We should have left. Overcharged at bar. Staff at all levels lacking in people skills. Bussers good. Ordered four things for four people, $32 entree, 2 $28 entrees and 1 appetizer for $14. $28 dollar swordfish arrived as a piece of fish on a plate with not even a garnish. Had a coupon for free entree and they gave us the appetizer for free. They said they counted that as an entree. Said that is the way the computers did it. We felt like we were scammed. We are in the neighborhood and go there 6-8 times per year. Never again. The coupons get us there; nothing else would. Atmosphere is nice but weird when there is usually hardly anyone there.

Excellent lunch menu
Just had lunch with 4 friends at this restaurant. Food was superb and service top notch. On average price was about $20 each for lunch. I had lobster risotto and scallops and the food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meal and were glad that we spent a couple extra dollars for such a fine lunch. The atmosphere is wonderfully soothing and architecture is beautiful. Make sure you do not miss out on a fine dining experience.

Superb!
Went to Chops in Philly for a New Year's Eve Dinner with friends. Upon arrival, we were pleased that we didn't have to drive around looking for a space as the Valet Parking was only $10 (a bargain for center city Philadelphia). The wait staff was courteous, knowledgable and attentive. I had the 16 oz. Bone in Filet Mignon with Au Poivre Sauce while my wife and one of our friends had the evenings special Steak Oscar and our other friend has the Rack of Lamb. The meal was served at an appropriate pace and everyone agreed that it was very good. The ambiance was quiet and intimate even though the restaurant is housed in an old converted bank. The prices were a bit high but this is a downtown steak house and we were not surprised. All in all an excellent dining experience.
