I was in town for business and staying at a hotel near the Convention Center. Looked on the internet for Chinese delivery. It was already almost 6:30 pm and I thought it would take forever. They told me 30-35 minutes and the food was here even sooner. It was hot and exactly what I wanted. The egg roll was the best I've had in a long time and wish I would've ordered more of them. The won ton soup was perfectly flavored and there were 4-5 delicious won tons. The pork fried rice was average and lacking in seasoning and flavor. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and very satisfied!!

I've tried all of the Chinese Restaurants in the area of 18th Street to 22nd Street and going south to east from Spruce to Spring Garden. /and just recently I tried for the first time City Garden. I find that appetizers are the best and of the highest quality and taste (with the exception of the spare ribs and the beef and chicken on a stick - they have a dry rub and are baked; the rub has little flavor and is insufficient on the beef and chicken, and the ribs are very dry and barely have any meat on them). Their dumplings are delicious (although the wrappers are the standard ones, the fillings are so much better than any others I've had. Their spring roll and vegetable roll are delicious (the fillings inside have the distinct flavor of Chinese seasoning that sets them apart from others I've had. Their fried chicken wings have a wonderful flavor -- they definitely can't be misstaken for American fried chicken wings because they are delicately seasoned with Chinese spices. And my very favorite appetizers are their scallion pancakes -- they are so good (there is no comparison to the sub-standard quality and taste of the others I've had!). The few main dishes I've had sampled so far were the fried rice, lo mein and chow mein, and they were just fair (they laciked flavor --needed more sauce and Chinese seasoning. Their delivery time is excellent and their staff are friendly and efficient.

Went here for a welcome lunch with my old company. The food is excellent for American style Chinese. I have lived in "hooded environments" like SW philly, and believe me when I say this place is EXCELLENT! If you want the real deal Hollyfield, though, you gotta go to Chinatown. But when I'm working downtown, this is my Chinese place of choise. On the higher end of 4.5 stars.

Pretty good takeout, and fast delivery. The leftovers don't heat up well. Egg rolls are awesome. Beef with broccoli above average.

I love this place. The food is excellent and delivery is usually quick. The Kung Poa Chicken is my favorite, along with the Veggie Dumplings. Great flavor is everything and all of the veggies are cubed and really crisp, never over done and soggy. I highly recommend this place. BTW, I have lived in Philly for years and tried all of the restaurants in this price point....go to City Garden, you won't regret it! : )

Goopey Garden, as we prefer to call it, has high quality food but the sauces used are very "corn starchy" and the girl at the front counter is not the friendliest.

I usually get delivery from here. The food overall seems to have a lot of oil. And I think there's MSG in here as well. So far the appetizers I've gotten are better than the main courses. I especially like the pork dumplings.
