Just plain good
My brother and his wife are in there almost every weekend. I decided to join them one night and when I tell you I'm hooked..I'm hooked the fried pork Carne De Cerdo Frito is the best. The plaintains are great, then drinks are nice and strong. It's worth the trip.

Worth checking out
This place really is quite good. I live in the area and its worth checking into for sure. Go there and learn something about Puerto Rican food in addition to the Mexican fare. Such a bargain, it's a family owned and operated business that I'm proud to support.

Satisfied Cravings
I moved to Philly a little over a year ago and for the past week or so I have been craving Spanish food. Not tapas and not the fancy stuff you find at Cuba Libre or Alma de Cuba...I was craving the stuff you get at the random resturant in Washington Heights (NYC): arroz con grandules (rice n beans), pernil (pork), maduros (fried ripe plantains)...I logged on to menupages and stumbled across Cobre. I tried it last night and was pleasantly surprised! I satisfied my craving and was not disappointed with a single thing. Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly my entire meal came to less than $13 - cheap (I had the Pork with fried ripe plantains and a side of the rice of the day) and the bar tender was super friendly. I will absolutely be back and encourage you to check it out. It's a great resturant for an inexpensive, good meal.

Reminders of home...
My sister and I decided to try out this place this past Saturday. We ordered many of the Spanish appetizers and entrees which gave us so many memories of our old neighborhood. We are african-american women that grew up in a predominately puerto-rican neighborhood. We were emersed in the center of latin music, food, and culture. The food at Cobre's was amazing and the waitress was very nice. They make a pretty good mojito too.

Chic but not quite there yet
The atmosphere is much nicer than typical Philly. You should expect pricey drinks and tasty nibbles. You actually get pricey drinks and food made by people who seem to have never tasted the real stuff. Maybe they're dumbing it down for the local palate, but I was disappointed. The menu looked great, but the food was...well, Americanish. Take a date here and party, but don't come when you're jonesing for authentic latin food.

Awesome place
I had the pleasure of dining at Cobre and I loved the whole dining experience. The food was great and authentic! The owner personally introduced herself to patrons and thanked us each for our patronage. I appreciated that, but owners will rarely thank there guests. The margaritas are great and rightful priced. Will definitely dine there again!

Good Puerto Rican/Mexican Food on Broad
When we called to place an order for delivery, they said they had no driver, which was strange on a Friday night. But no biggie, we placed an order for pick up and had a drink at the bar while we waited. Quite possibly the best margarita on the rocks I've ever had, but pricey at $10. The bartender was friendly, as were the other bar patrons. One gentleman even offered suggestions on what he thought the best dishes were on the menu. The empandas are wonderful, as were the chicken tacos. The guacamole was so-so, as were the quesadillas and the flautas. Good, but not great. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful, and next time I will dine in for the full experience. I will go again, and hopefull get it delivered some time, if they ever get a reliable driver schedule.
