    Food-not so good/ Service - even less

What a huge disappointment! We dined here with friends this past Sunday night. It seems that Valentine's Day wiped them out of many menu items, basic ingredients, and a wine list. Unfortunately, we did not find this out until after we ordered and were then told they were out of so many things. There were only 3 other tables of diners, yet dinner took more than 2 hours from start ot finish. While I enjoy a leisurely dinner with friends, I do not enjoy waiting nearly an hour for our first courses ( soups and a salad). What we did eat was fine, but not what we intially chose and then waited (and waited) to be served. The restaurant was so cold that some diners left their coats on while eating and the waitress was even spotted wearing her coat in the dining room. When we asked our kind but ineffective server to speak to the manager we waited as he was busy (?) but we did track him down in the kitchen (hiding?) A truly disappointing and not so inexpensive evening.

the site of our most romantic dinner yet

I disagree with the poor showing posts.. we had an excellent waitress received complimentary wine tastings to decide what we wanted... there were substitutions but they were acceptable - fish was delicate and beef was tender. I even won gift certificate at auction! Seats are a little uncomfortable - only complaint.

    A poor display

I ventured into this establishment with a friend on a friday around 5 pm. We were the first 2 people in the entire place. We sat at the bar and asked to see a wine list, to which the bartender responded that they did not have a list and then proceeded to recommend another establishment for a good glass of wine. We ordered a plateau (the menu is etched in the mirror behind the bar, its got to be good right?) They did not have lobster so the substituted mussels instead. Also, it took close to 45 minutes for them to shuck the oysters and arrange them on the plateau. It has been my experience that 45 minutes for 2 dozen oysters is wuite slow. The service was just OK and the bill was outrageous. I will not be going back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. (Also, it should be noted that I never rate restaurants, but this place was bad enough to make me start!)

    disappointing food!

My boyfriend and I had dinner and we will not be going back. The atmosphere was great, we were arrived early for our reservations and the place was empty and so were able to choose where we wanted to sit, which was nice. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the food and friendly. I had the mixed green salad which was oversalted to the point you could barely eat it after like 3 bites. My boyfriend had the oysters and escargot which was okay. We also ordered the mussles and scallops as our main course. The scallops were undercooked and tasteless, in an unappetizing thick creamy garlic sauce. When my boyfriend asked for bread the waitress stated they didn't have any. Twenty minutes later I see the owner rush in with 6 loaves of French bread, yet the 3 tables filled with people didn't receive any after it was brought in. For dessert, my boyfriend ordered the creme brulee which was really cold and of a soup like consistency. I ordered the apple tart which was not worth the price.

    cozy bistro

Crowded bar scene. Restaurant tables too close for comfort. Great oysters and good french bistro food, but pricey.

    Memorable Experience

After owner Cary Neff introduced himself at the bar about a week ago he was kind enough to compose a customized multi-course meal for some foodie friends and me, replete with wine pairings. It could really not have been a more perfectly orchestrated evening. Thanks Cary!

Food = Delicious, Service = Not Good

My boyfriend and I dined here last night for Valentine's Day. Our waitress was helpful when we had questions about the menu, but otherwise distracted and unavailable throughout most of the meal. The appetizers were delicious (he had the mussels, and I had the onion soup), but I felt as if the waitstaff was rushing to clear the table to get us out of there as quick as possible. In fact, in her haste a server [drop]ped mussel shells into my boyfriend's beer, and didn't even think to offer to replace it. Both of us ordered the bar steak as an entree, cooked to medium rare. The center of my steak was definitely cold and bloody. We also ordered both wine with our meal, but never received it. Upon telling the manager to cancel our wine order, he offered two glasses on the house. Overall, I would come back for the food, but hopefully next time the service will improve.
