    Beware $15 wine corking fee

Coquette welcomes the customer to bring his or her own bottle of wine, as they are still building their wine list: they say this on their voice mail messege. Not knowing what the wine list would be like, we brought our own bottle, only to discover that we would be charged $15 just to open the bottle. This is utterly outrageous. We left and went to another restaurant up the street instead, which was a fun, interesting, delicious, and lovely experience. Coquette is not worth the offense, and it's not even attractive inside.

    Reservations don't make a difference!

I booked a reservation for 9 PM and made certain to arrive on time, as not to lose our table or inconvenience the staff. When we checked in with the hostess, we were told that things were hectic, but our table would be available in 15 minutes and we should feel free to have a drink at the bar. We happily obliged and made our way to the bar, but it took 15 minutes alone to capture the bartender's attention. When we finally ordered a bottle of wine, she produced the wrong one. When we told her it was the wrong bottle, she informed us that the correct bottle was warm, and it would only take five minutes to chill. After waiting 15 minutes for the bottle to chill we were informed the wait for our table would be another 15 minutes, so we decided to order oysters. By the time we received and finished our oysters, we had been waiting 45 minutes. Frustrated at this point, I asked the hostess what the problem was, and she unapologetically explained there were people at the table who were not leaving, and there was nothing she could do for us. I then spoke with the owner, who told me his hands were tied, because he wants his diners to have a pleasant experience. When I told him that he was ruining our evening, he was aloof. At 10:15 PM, we finished our wine, paid our bill and left without dinner and without apologies. I have never been treated that way at ANY restaurant.

    Oysters

Their oysters are to die for. I had them for an app and even had them for dessert. Yum.

    Delicious!

My boyfriend and I ate here yesterday and were very pleased with all that we had. We started off with a seafood appetizer that comes with three different kinds of oysters, and mussels, clams, shrimp and lobster claw. All were delicious--especially the oysters. We then ordered the seared sea scallops and steak frites. Frites were excellent, scallops were perfectly cooked. Dessert was good, nothing astronomical but definately tasty. I'm sure that we'll be back. Only sour note was that they incorrectly tallied up our bill, but this was quickly and easily remedied.

    Would definitely go again

The food was yummy! I had butternut squash soup and long island blue oysters which were amazing (and I am not even a huge seafood fan). I then had the coquette steak which was tender and delicious. The waiter was helpful but seemed very busy and rushed. The atmosphere was a bit noisier than I would have liked but it was only testimony to its popularity and laid back atmosphere. Great place to meet up with friends for dinner. Overall, I'm really looking forward to going back.

    Great addition to the 'hood

Four of us had dinner a couple of weeks ago. We started with the tomato salad (simple and very delicious) and the artichoke pot? - I'm not a big artichoke fan but I still thought it was tasty. For dinner we had burgers, steak frites and I had the other steak (name is escaping me) with spinach and carmelized onions. Everything was very tasty, including the fries which came with the burgers. We sat outside because there were no tables inside which was not our first choice but was actually fine. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable and the food was very reasonable. I would definitely go back and recommend to a friend.

    Dont go

Not ready to open. Food could be much better and the owner yelling at the chef in the middle of the restaurant is not exactly what a customer calls a quality experience.
