I never bother to rate places but I had to add my vote for Dante's. I've gotten BBQ from them twice now and have been extremely impressed both times. The St. Louis style ribs are amazing, as is the pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread. The potato salad and cole slaw are fine, although nothing special. Haven't tried the other offerings, although I intend to try the brisket, BBQ chicken and fried chicken at some point. Don't forget the mac and cheese, it is fantastic. It's a fairly short drive from Univ. City, the food is amazing and cheap, and it is owned by locals. Try this place out, it is a real find. I gave a low score for atmosphere given that the neighborhood it is in is not the greatest and there is no seating, it is takeout only. But don't let this deter you, as this place is worth a much longer drive.

My first visit to Dante's Barbeque wont be my last. After reading several comments I decided to give them a try. Its very hard to find barbeque chicken that has actually been smoke with flavor. Well, I enjoyed the 6pc white meat which was 5 wings and a chicken breast with tangy barbeque sauce. Place was very nice and clean including friendly service. Will go back!
