Del Frisco's Double Eagle
Posted by Cindy Barson on 10/19/2014
We were out for a special birthday dinner. The place was beautiful. Then the drinks, or rather the cups of ice came....After a nice Ceasar salad the steak came out. There was so much salt and pepper layered on the steaks, they were unedible. The waiter said that happens once a week. We got the manager. They replaced the steaks. They were ok; nothing special. The potatoes and spinach were heavily peppered, too. My friend's lamb chops were too fatty to enjoy. We were supposed to have a birthday surprise for my husband. but, they forgot. The manager said he was going to get it, but didn't. Next time we will go elsewhere.

I had the double eagle steak, cooked medium. At $67, the waiter assured me it would be the best steak I ever had. It was awful. Chewy, dry...and with nothing but a spoonful of corn and spinach on the side. The place was a huge disappointment. Top it off with a $70 tab for 4 drinks at the bar (2 vodka tonics and 2 scotch and sodas) and I will never go back. Outback steak house makes a far better steak...no lie. No one was the least bit impressed with any of yhe food we ordered. Stay away from here.

The food and the service was excellent. Would go again as well as recommend it to all my friends.

We met friends Valentine's weekend for what we thought would be a great meal. After all, where better to get good steaks than a steal house. Of 4 steaks, 3 were totally cooked incorrectly. One was sent back by the manager twice before it was medium well. ALL the steaks were completely crusted with a HEAVY layer of pepper, yet no where on the menu was the word "blackened" used. So much pepper was used, the steaks were nearly inedible. In fact, after attempting to carve off the pepper, I ate my steak.

Del Frisco's is one of the biggest disappointments yet. Due to the high ceilings and wide open bar in the center of place, it's incredibly loud throughout the entire restaurant - especially if there's a good sports event on the TV. Steak was overpriced and overcooked. Flavor was nothing special either. Will not return nor would I recommend to friends.

The wait staff is pretentious--they even tell you which knife to use to cut the steak! The drinks are way overpriced as is the food. Unless you're on an expense account and you can't get into Prime Rib or Capital Grille, forget about it!

I went to Del Fresco's during Restaurant Week. It was the only time I could afford to go. But it was great. Food and service both excellent.
