    Love!

I went here a few times for a few different occasions..family dinner, drinks and apps, and a typical date. I think the best time I've had was drinks and apps. The food is great and so are the drinks but they have a bit to work on with their service.

    Manayunk: Don't waste your time

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed, given the recommendation from a co-worker. While I agree that the atmosphere is filled with friendly waitstaff and suitable decor, the food was less than favorable as our entrees came out cold and bland. I will never return to this restaurant.

    Everything a restaurant should be!

We were at Derek's [again!] this weekend. the people are always so friendly and something is always new. We pretty much just focus on the specials when we go, even though they absolutely have the best roasted chicken we have ever had . This weekend, like every day in the summer, they featured what they called a "Farmer's plate" It was actually a vegetatian antipasto with 10 different salads and pickles and cheeses all organic and locally grown. others talk the talk, Derek has always walked the walk. We love Sundays when every item on the wine list of over 200 items is half price, and that could mean a full bottle of wine from $13 to $100, but most in the $20 range, what a steal!

Great Place Except for One Thing

My girlfriend and I recently ate at dereks. We had just moved in to town and a friend had told us how great of a place this was. We were greeted at the door by a lovely host. We decided to try the bar on account of it being our first time there. Once we had sat down we got a drink from the bartender which was amazing! After a little bit we had tried to ask a question. She was apparently rather busy and she look at us and said "your just gonna have to wait a second" after she had just snapped at one of her employees. She was very nasty and rude and had no tact. Not someone i expected to represent such a sophisticated place. After that though we had a ball had a drink or two with our incredible brunch. We will definitely go back again soon. Hopefully not while she is working!!

    Best on Main Street

Been going here for years now and it's the best place on Main Street as far as I'm concerned. Whether you're looking for fine dining, a quick bite at the bar, or some late night dancing. Fridays and Saturdays have a DJ for no cover charge, which is pretty rare to find on Main Street. The service is always great and the food is delicious (my favorite is the sesame tuna app)!! Some other MUST tries are the scallops, duck, and filet. No matter what day you go you can always catch a deal! The daily food and drink specials for $6 (mondays include burger and fries) last all day long not just happy hour! There is a great 3 course pre fix menu as well, but best of all, the entire wine list (and its a long one) is half off on Sundays! This is definitely a place you don't want to miss.

    Poor experience

Went here for lunch and I was very excited because I read up on this place prior to going. Well to my surprise this place was not good at allThe plush seat were not clean, the restroom smelled like an airplane restroom (which were unisex). The servers were pleasant, which was the only nice thing about the place because the food was below average. So very disappointing.

    Very Disappointed

I found Derek's online and was impressed with the menu and the fact that you can BYOB even though they have a large wine list. I made a reservation well in advance, but my party of 8 had to wait almost 2 hours to be seated! When we got there we were told it would take only 10 minutes to be seated. We spoke to the manager numerous times and each time told us we would be seated shortly. He needs to learn how to set proper expectations. A little after 10pm we finally got our seat only to be placed right next to a DJ which was setting up for the night. The food was average and considering the poor service, I would NOT recommend this place. My night out with my friends was filled with frustration and mediocre food. The only good thing about the restaurant was the wine that WE brought!
