Service with a smile and traditiona diner fare
We were just there last night during the Phillies playoff game - great crowd and lots of big screen TV's! The food is typical of traditional diner food and if that is what you like then you would love this place. You get a lot of food for the price - definite value - most entrees come with soup, salad, and dessert. Portions are a good size. Wait-staff was wonderful and made you feel right at home!

Best Fodd, AtmosPhere, Service, etc..
This place is by far the most amazing restaurant to go to. From Pasta dishes to just a Simple Sandwich, you are sure to love it. Not to mention the best French Onion Soup and Dinner Rolls around. Melty, cheesy goodness on the soup and warness baked through the rolls. Even the girlled cheese is extremely cheesy for the cheese lovers. The fries are always hot and served right away, portions are acceptable (enough to satisfy even the hungriest person) Everyone i introduced to this little Diner has had no complaints about anything. They go back all the time and the staff is very nice and always smiling and making sure you are served just right. This is my go to place for dinner, but if you prefer breakfast or lunch...go right ahead...they don't disappoint. Try it, and you are sure to love it.

ugh! too much salt and subpar food.
I live down the street from this place for about 10 years now and have tried the food here every so often to see if it's improved as it's just so close, but it hasn't at all. I mean it isn't ALL bad, if you stick to the basics only, but the entrees were just plain poor and anything with gravy on it that I've tried is literally like sticking your tongue in a salt shaker.. totally inedible and I don't mind a healthy dose of salt either.. everything is canned or frozen from a food distributor, the soups, the gravy, the appetizers, everything.. so stick to sandwiches or a burger and it won't be too bad but it's never been very good. it does have a bar and they occationally have live music.. the service has been good at least, the wait staff is always competent and pleasant and for the low quality of the food, it's rather a bit pricey. I mean if it was dirt cheap, that'd be one thing but it's not.. I've never seen more than a half dozen tables occupied at any particular time and there's plenty of seating.. unless you get a bar crowd or people are there for a show (which is VERY hit or miss on the quality of the acts, tho I can say kudos to them for not booking cover bands).. I really wanted this place to be good, it's so close to my house, which is why I've gone back to test it out now and again over the years but I've always been mostly disappointed, except when I stuck to the basics such as a sandwich or the like and then it was just ok.

Good food in a quiet little joint!
They have the BEST french onion soup in South Philly! The service is okay, not outstanding, but it's not usually busy. I've never had a bad meal there, either, and have been there more than 10 times. The serve drinks too!
