Best Kebaps in Town
I would strongly recommend this place for a good Turkish Food Restaurant in Philadelphia. Divan Turkish Kitchen delivers too.

Great Takeout and Delivery
My roommate and I really like Divan and order from them atleast once a month. I always get the lamb shish (it is delicious and the rice is so good), the hummus/ falafel, and the turkish cigars! It's always delicious and arrives hot! I've never eaten inside, but it doesn't look like a place that I'd really want to eat in... Trust me, get takeout or delivery

The only thing saving this place is the food. The service is poor the place is cramped with too many tables and worst of all...mgmt and owner(s) are rude and impolite. The only thing saving this place is the food.

Special note for vegetarians!
Restaurant had great appetizers.... but the main entrees were very bland for vegetarians. Otherwise, ambience was good....but it seemed like the food was meant to be served with meat. A different experience but I'm not sure if I would go back.

love it
The Divan Turkish Kitchen provides a warm and inviting atmosphere where you can easily enjoy the wonderful aromas and flavors of Turkish cuisine. The appetizers are truly traditional in look and flavor. I make it a point to call for my reservations prior to my trips to Philadelphia -- I never leave town without a dinner at Divan

I would never go back there
My husband and I wanted to have a good Turkish food like we had in Istanbul. The food we had in this restaurant was not authentic Turkish food and the service was very bad, The hostess and the manager were impolite. We had to wait for a while to be seated when all the tables were empty. Totaly bad experience. I wouldn't go there again.

Divan disappointed me.
You like being crumbled in a sitting-room-size restaurant like sardines-in-a-can and not even be able to hear your own voice? If so, then this is your place. We were a party of 5 that night in Divan. We were to be seated at 9pm and weren't until 9:30, so we had to start at this really tiny bar with some appetizers. I must say that the appetizer menu is very limited and not very special. Dishes were very typical not so much creativity. When our table was ready, we had to pull these manevours to get seated although there was only one average size man in our group along with 4 women, 2 of which were really tiny Asians. So there was a lot of leg kicking under the table. Noise inside is really big issue. You have to shout across the tiny table to hear your friends. It was also pretty difficult to talk to the waiters and I speak Turkish. I was even almost told off by one of them. Now, I don't care if their work load is so much and that they are stressed out or they feel close to me for speaking the same language, it is not their place to tell me to cool-off when I had to repeat our orders many times in deafening noise. The location is not so good either. We felt quite unsafe to park and walk down the street in that area. Barmaid was not very accomodating about the parking situation either. Wouldn't you expect the employees to now one thing or two about the area? When we asked her if where we parked was secure or not, she said " oh, you've got 50% chance, it is either good or bad, can't help you"!!! Luckily, the car was OK, no tickets or anything. Now the main dishes: much like the appetizers, not so special. The owner must have planned to fill the place up until you had no breathing space, but apparently, s/he didn't think of securing enough food for all that people. The menu item that I especially wanted my friends to taste had run out, actually, it ran out more than an hour before we wanted to order! Luckily, my friends never had Turkish food before so they were satisf
