On tuesday nov.26 2013 while visiting philly to see my sister we had breakfast at the diner .It was the worst breakfast . We thought it was under new management, the cornbeef hash was burnt the fruit was old and the eggs were hard. Never, never again will we eat there or recommend it to any one...

Service is very slow. The food is over priced and the quality is hit or miss. There are too many other places in the Market to take a gamble with this place.

So I ate here at the down home diner, yesterday for lunch sat at the bar. My server was great, very friendly. Had the hot turkey. It was very tasty I really enjoyed it. I will return thanks to the service and food.

The food was pretty good but the service was so uncaring and slipshod that it made it hard to digest. Servers at diners can be a little rude sometimes, but at least they're amusing. This crowd is just lazy and clueless.

I must say this place was a very great diner, the food was amazing I had the burrito it was good made just right. And the servers were so friendly and nice the people here really make you feel like your at home.. But the bathroom in the diner was very clean I am so happy you don't have to walk all the way in the terminal and wait in line any more. In one word the place was amazing, good food, great service, and quick... I will return..

I can't get enough of this place. Everything is excellent! The best burgers , ribs, and fried chicken. The soups are great. Try the breakfast burritos. The best butter cake and sticky buns I ever had.

I don't eat a lot of chicken--especially in restaurants--because it's usually dry and flavorless, even in high-end establishments. I took a flier on Down Home Diner's cast-iron fried chicken, though, and now I'm totally addicted. Perfectly seasoned and very succulent. The greens it comes with for dinner are also superb. The whole shebang's only $11 for dinner; $8 at lunch (the sides at lunchtime are mashed potatoes, broccoli, and carrots--all of which are also delicious). I can't recommend this place more highly.
