OK, but nothing special
The food here was decent, but not that authentic and a bit overpriced. The service was really poor... our waitress forgot what she was doing and was more interested in flirting with the cook. I suppose it's all right if you're right there and too lazy to walk to another Greek restaurant.

Not That Greek
If you are looking for authentic Greek food, this is not the place. Traditional Greek recipes have been "Americanized" for the Yankee pallet and the combination of filo dough with pasta did not bode well with me at all. Now granted I grew up eating traditional Greek food from my mother and aunts & uncles, but if you are looking for the real deal, you may want to go elsewhere in Philly.

great food
A great BYO. Food is very reasonably priced and a great value. Service was ok but I expected better as there are only a few tables. I think that the majority of their business is takeout. Would still recommend as the place has great atmosphere and food was very good.

Don't want to go out or don't want pizza?
My girlfriend wanted delivery but wanted Greek food. The restaurant from which we were about to order had just closed down. A quick Google search brought up Effie's. It was incredibly reasonable and the food was quite good. It would never be rated highly by Zagat's but as far as delivery goes, it exceeded expectations. I recommend it highly. The lamb souvlaki was fantastic, and the grape leaves were even better.
