Good Mexican Authentic!!
I've lived in Philly two years now. And I love Mexican but the city is missing some authentic Mexican. Quoba is not authentic nor worth the price. El Azteca has authentic food for a great price and huge plates. You'll never leave hungry! Love them!!

All Good
I love el azteca and have been eating there for years. Fast friendly service, and I've never been disappointed. :)

Great Mexican w/vegetarian options!
I'm a vegetarian and El Azteca offers a nice variety of no meat lunches. I love their food, it tastes wonderful, and it's always hot when I pick it up (I work around the corner) There is so much food given, even chips and salsa. Yes the salsa is a bit more liquid than solid, but I happen to like it that way. I've always had great service, eat in and take out, and am sorry to see the bad reveiws here! My opinion: decent & timely service, delicous food, fast take out ordering, decent pricing, yum yum! I eat here 1-3 times a month at least.

Great!
I have been eating at this restaurant for years, and the food is absolutely great! The service everytime I am there is prompt and courteous. Over the years the place has changed their decor for the better. I take my family here and I also order take out quite often. Anytime I come, the server at the front desk automatically knows what I want, because I come there so often. I love this place!

Best non-pretentious Mexican in the city
I'm not sure what everyone is talking about! I thought this place was great. With all of the over priced, high end mexican food in this city it is refreshing to try a place that just has good quality food. The place is small, but makes up for it in comfortable ambiance. My fiance and I ate there on a Saturday, so it was a little crowded and service was a bit slow, but the food was completely worth the wait! This place is definitely a new favorite for us.

Still Suffering
Philly has so many great places to eat. This is not one of them. El Azteca stinks and we were pressured with making our reservation with credit card gaurantee and then the place was more or less empty when we got there. My stomach hurts still from the food and I hardly at half my plate. The salsa is underpowered.

great for lunch
It may not be fancy, but the food at El Azteca is really tasty and filling. I highly recommend this place for lunch. The service is a bit slow, but the take out orders are ready quickly and each plate come with a big serving their yummy chips and salsa. I highly recommend the Vegetarian Lunch platter. You'll be full until the next morning.
