Forget the glitz...this is great food

It's not that far from Le Bec Fin in distance or food quality. I know it seems weird to compare the two, but the food at both is simply great. Le Bec wins on decor if you like gold plating, but Five Guys is simple and focused on their food. They told me there is no freezer in the place, everything is fresh, no preservatives even in the bread. Great cheeseburgers and fries. A much better value than Le Bec!

    Focused on the basics

I'm focused on the basics of food, i.e. how good it tastes in my mouth. Marble floors, waiters in tuxes, miniture attractively arranged portions...no thanks. Five Guys does the basics perfectly. Meat is five stars, buns are five stars, fries are five stars. There could have been plywood on the walls for all I cared...those were excellent burgers!

    Texan's Thumbs Up

I'm a Texan, so you know I like my beef done right. I was upset with Philly because I didn't think I would ever find a great burger, but then I was turned onto 5 Guys. I am finishing a 5 Guys burger right now! 5 Guys gets 5 stars for food! They are slow (avoid the lunch hour if you can. try 2:00), but ah, what are you gonna do (I don't think they even claim to be fast food, so you really can't complain)? If you want fast food, there is a chain place right down the street. If you want GOOD, then try 5 Guys. Now I'm just waiting for What-a-Burger and Kolache Factory to make their way up here.

    Great Burgers

I'm a guy that likes burgers...real ones, not the frozen microwave kind, and this place has the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. They're big, they're customized, and mine was ready before I finished the free peanuts on my table. Fries were very good - abundant and better than I've had on the boardwalk.

    Great Cheap Burger

I agree it can be slow but this is the best low priced burger out there.

    sssslllllloooowwwww

Went with a friend, didnt order anything. However, he ordererd one burger and a drink. Took them 25 minutes!! It wasn't even that busy! However, my friend said the burger was pretty good, soo.....if you want to wait, then go for it.

    No frills, just meat.

The burgers are world-class. You can't get a better one unless you bbq it yourself. Completely custom, you can get one with everything, with nothing, mix and match according to taste. The fries are addictive, however the large is twice the price as the small and yet, you don't get twice the fries. Slight bummer there. The wait time is long, on three different occasions I've had to wait 10-15 minutes each but it's a small sacrifice for a quality product.
