Went for lunch with 3 co-workers for the 1st time. It was awesome! We all had something different and everyone LOVED their meal. We did the text thing and each of us got a free dessert. We are definitely going back. We want to try everything on the menu. The prices were very reasonable as well.

Fuel keeps you going and this restaurant fits that bill, but not much more than that. The concept is healthy food options all less than 500 calories; however when we received our food they seem really liberal with the oil and I question how they calculate the nutrition of their menu items. We live very close to the restaurant and after passing by for many months decided to finally give it a try and got some food delivered. When it was delivered in less than 15 minutes I was concerned about the quality of what we were receiving and the attention to detail in its preparation. My instincts were spot on and the food was uninteresting, uninspired and given the calorie counts so much more could have been done with flavor. My husband ordered the turkey wrap that arrived with oily pesto dripping through the wrap. I had the sweet pea dip with grilled wonton skins. It was ok and definitely the best part of a very mediocre meal. The high protein grilled cheese arrived with the cheese not at all melted with a single slice of under ripe tomato, four pieces of fresh spinach and was on such hard crusted bread I ate it open faced as the crunch factor was way over the top and rather unpleasant. Even delivered one can tell if cheese has been melted and this “grilled cheese” was nothing more than a cheese sandwich with two types of cheese - not the 3 varieties listed, the lemon cream cheese however was a very nice touch and carried most of the flavor. It was certainly not the comforting grilled cheeses of my youth or adulthood. In response to my complaint call to the restaurant that the grilled cheese was lacking they offered to redo it and send me another, but clearly added that is the way it is normally done. It was listed at 400 calories on the menu (no fat calories listed – just protein) Frankly, I could have made a better version with the whole grains breads, low fat cheeses and soy butter in my fridge, but you have to pay for your laziness and we paid $24 for an appetizer and 2 sandwiches- a bit pricey for the quality of what we got. We will order from Fuel no more. Concept is wonderful, execution very much lacking. Given all the amazing sandwich shops, cafes and restaurants in South Philly is this really the best they can do with this concept?
