If you thought the sushi is good, you gotta try the Korean dishes!!!
The Korean dishes here are amazing and thats the problem with this place. I'm always torn between Japanese or Korean.

I LOVE this place!
This was the first place that I've had sushi for the first time-- like authentic raw sushi. It was absolutely amazing! So great that after eating, I actually placed another order to take with me! And it was just as good! Of course I've eaten sushi a lot after that, but compared to the places I've been, Gaja Gaja is my favorite. Very good, fresh quality and a very good value. You can actually get full eating here! The size of the rolls were mouth-fulls for me. Not disappointing "bite sized" like other places. I'm not a huge fan of south street but believe me it is worth the trip! Very friendly staff, very peaceful, intimate setting and very low-key. If you're ever in town, you owe it to yourself to dine here. You just have to-- I highly recommend it!

Good Sushi on South St.
It's your best bet for sushi on South Street. They have a huge variety of rolls and sashimi. The tables have been a little unclean some times and their Tamago isn't good but everything else is great! Try their Korean food as well.

Yummmmm!
The sushi at Gaja is fresh, delicious, creative and consistent. You can taste the quality and it handily beats every sushi place I've been to in Philadelphia including: Genji, Fuji Mountain, Kisso, Hikaru, Raw, and Anjou. Genji is comparable in taste and quality but Gaja has more variety with good Korean dishes giving it an edge over Genji. As for the appearance, the place is low-key, clean, but no-frills. Just good food. It's perfect for meeting friends during the week, date night or for a family. It is never too crowded and the staff is pleasant and attentive.
