    Unique Pizza

I've been eating pizza from Gearos since 1980. They have a sweet tasting sauce and just the right amount of cheese, crispy crust. If you eat in the restaurant, you will not have time for conversation after ordering, because the pizza comes so fast. Their cheese steaks are packed with chopped steak, very good, and my wife loves their ham and cheese hoagie, not overly spicy, almost like homemade. The pizza is unique, it doesn't taste like any other. I could easily identify it in a blind taste test. Try it yourself.

My dog wouldn't even eat it

Made the mistake of thinking that Gearo's is pricey, their food would be better... I was dead wrong. Called Gearos' Grille and placed an order. Explained that the doorbells to my building had shorted out, and could the driver give me a call once he was outside? (Every other local pizza place does this for me) Was told no, the driver does not have a cell phone. "Just go outside in about 20 minutes and he'll be there." Hung up and then realized that I had a lot going on in my house and couldn't be outside on the step waiting, when I'm dealing with 2 rambunchous kids. Called back and asked if Gearo's could call me when the driver was leaving so that I'd know to come out. They told me no. Asked to speak to someone else, who also told me no. "Just go outside in 20 minutes." So I went outside, and waited...food arrived pretty promptly. Unfortunately, the food turned out to be no better than prison fare. Pizza was limp and impossible to hold, without cheese and sauce dripping off. "Nachos Supreme" consisted of soft soggy nachos, which had obviously been microwaved nstead of baked. Also, there was hardly any cheese and the tortilla chips were stale. They were inedible. The chicken sandwich with provolone contained no provolone- they had messed up the order. I personally can't eat chicken sandwiches w/o cheese, so instead I went for the soggy pizza.

    The Grille

The atmosphere, food, and service are exceptional. The bar is not huge but welcoming and cozy. Everything on the menu from the wings to the pizza to the sandwiches and platters are way above par. The servers and bartenders make the experience enjoyable if you're in for dinner or just stopping by for a brew. This is a great place to meet up with friends after a hard fought sporting event. There is a softball team that settles there quite often and is filled with hot guys! So try Gearo's the next time you're hungry, thirsty, or want to enjoy the view.

    best days are long gone.

Although this place has been around awhile, I personally do not know why.. The hoagies are no better than wawa. I once went in to try some of their platters(bbq chicken) and it was downright nasty. This place tries to be everything to everybody. Instead of concentrating on what made it famous and improving on that. they decided to become one of those one-stop restaurants for all tastes. Hey guys, it does not work. I went in one time to have some cream of broccoli soup and a hoagie and it was not good. This place has scene better days. Try it for yourself and compare against other places. In the late seventies this place was my pizza spotand hoagie spot. Their are so many better places in the NE now, but like I said, give 'em a try to judge for yourself.
