    S-L-O-W

I don't like to review restaurants because I believe diners should decide for themselves...However, in this case I'm making an exception. This place is SLOW....two of us went in for lunch one weekend. Only about 8 other people were in the restaurant, but it took no less than 25 minutes to get seated...then another 20 minutes before someone came by with menus...and another 20 before a waitress sauntered over to take our order. No reason was given for the unwarranted delay. We thought about leaving but stayed....bad decision. It took at least 45 minutes to get our food. I am not remembering these time increments incorrectly, because before we went in I mentioned we had an appointment we could not be late for, but was assured by my guest we would be out in an hour, so I was keeping track of the time. And on top of it all, the food was nothing special. I only ate it because by then I was starving.... So, if you go, beware, Geedchee Girl is an endurance test.

    A Mess!

Getting straight to the point! If bland, unappealing, season less food is your preference then this is the place for you. The over pricing of the appi’s, entrees and child size portions adds insult to injury. Honestly I’ve had better tasting, prepared and presented food, free at my Nonie’s house. Someone should clue the cook? That we eat with our eyes first. The only thing “low down country” style about this restaurant is the price and the attitude of the host/owner whom if you ask questions might tell us to just “SHUT UP” and eat. This place is definitely “caveat emptor” (let the buyer beware or better yet the EATER!)

    Enjoyable!

It was our first time here, found the food tantalizing, service was good. A nice change in Mt. Airy to the usual. Very limited menu, but my salmon was very good. Would come again!

    Decent food on the whole

I've been there approx. 5-6 x's. The food was always good in the past. Went w/friends recently, and my order was fine, but we had to wait OVER 1 hour. My friend's order didn't look good; nor, did it taste very good. He let me taste it, but he didn't do me a favor by doing so. Service has seriously declined. I hope this changes, because what was once a very good restaurant is now mediocre.

Best Down Home Cooking Southern Style

Valentine's Day for Brunch - our first visit. Everything was most enjoyable. Great food - fresh food and the athmosphere was warm and friendly. Great fried chicken and please do try the Ginger Beer. We will be back.

    Take good company

The food was excellent! I had the BBQ chicken while my boyfriend had the Salmon. The resturant is quaint but I didn't feel smothered. My boyfriend noticed that it took a while to get our food but I hadn't noticed since I was enjoying his company. So I say, take good company and once you get your food you will be glad that you waited. it's worth the wait. The cream cheese pound cake was sooo good.

    Wonderful

We've enjoyed eating at Gee Chee Girl several times, in their old and their new location. While I'm particularly fond of their gingerbread, I've tried many items on their menu and always liked what I had. There is enough variety to please all tastes. We've been impressed by the chef's ability to meet special needs and to discuss the ingredients in each dish. She usually takes time to circulate and meet her guests, and the staff is warm and friendly. This is not the restaurant to go to for quick service. It is a place for taking time to enjoy a leisurely, tasty meal.
