Good Dog

Great rotating selection of draughts with plenty of locals and the occasional rare find. Nice can selection, too. Fancy food to balance a belly of beer.

Good dog bar has a pretty good draught and bottle section but this is where it stops. If you don't feel like being in the vicinity of boisterous and charasmatic business men, don't plan your happy hour here. The food was sub par. Got the grilled CHEESE sandwich with bacon and apple. I could have made a better one at home. I think they used Wonderbread, drenched it in butter, then toasted it, to which point caused the sandwich to crumble apart before it reaches your mouth. The lovely description they give you in the menu was nothing more than a toasted bacon sandwich. I must say though, that I loved their sweetpotato fries, which were mixed with their traditional counterpart. The aoili was lacking flavor; I've had much better (ex. Devils den, Belgium cafe). The bar itself was too dark, I could barely where my seat was. Food aside, if you are one of those freak dog lovers, this is your place...pictures of dogs line the walls. They even assign ribbons to the winner with the cutest dog! Maybe YOU could submit your dog's picture! :)

Have been here several times, food is good. Service is poor. Last time we went, we were the only people in line. Waited for a table for 2 for 30 minutes, and as soon as a table opened up another group walked in and they were seated. Instead of waiting another hour we left. Food is good but not good enough to put up with the servers.

This place has the best real food in a bar in the city. I go back time and time again, every item I've tried is awesome, sandwichs, soup, the quiche is the best I've ever eaten. It's a great place to have a drink too!

More like GREAT DOG! I asked them for my burger to be done medium. What did I get? A burger done MEDIUM! Not meduim well, not meduim rare, I got MEDIUM. Perfect. Just like I asked. If I would have had a problem, no doubt I would have gotten another burger at probably half price. This place is great (Except if your server is high. Then she will mess everything up. But usually this is not the case). And talk about fries. Regular and Sweet potatoe fries mixed with a special dipping sauce? I would bite my hand off for those! If you are reading this, then you are now obligated to eat at Good Dog.

Great food, great people. I have never had a problem with the service.

The best hamburgers in Center City, a killer selection of microbrews and a good clientele. Service could use some help though.
