    Dim Sum and Then Sum

had Dim Sum on a Sunday around noon. We were sent upstairs and I was worried initially as there were only a few folks there but I was assured it would not be an issue. It was not - Plenty of variety - all hot - Important to me. Clean restrooms important to my wife and her buddy. I have a new Dim Sum place...

    A pleasant surprise

This restaurant was not on my radar screen but when all the other seafood restaurants in the area were out of live fish, I decided to try it. And, yes, they had both tilapia and some other type of fish right in the tank, not to mention eel, crabs and lobster. We ordered the tilapia, two vegetables as well as a ½ a roast duck. The fish was superb and so was the duck! The eggplant was very good and yet the Chinese broccoli, somehow, left a lot to be desired. My grand children are very finicky eater and the waiter was very patient while we figured out something for them to eat. All I can say is I’m coming back soon.

    Great Dim Sum

Went on a Sunday around noon. It was busy, but that's to be expected. They were quick to seat us and get us drinks. The food was plentiful and delicious not to mention amazingly cheap for such quality. I did notice that we were served a different tea than the Asian faces sitting around us without any question as to preference. Otherwise, we were extremely happy with experience.

    just ok

We've been here 5+ times but today I was incredibly disappointed & won't be back. There were 2 huge tables in the middle of the restaurant set for 2 on each side but the lady sent us upstairs saying there was nowhere for 2 to sit. (they always sit strangers together at big tables) It was an hour until dim sum ended so the crowds were over...what were they saving the tables for???!!! We went upstairs & took 5 dim sum items from the cart & then no one else came around. We asked for more carts & waiter said they were done but we could order stuff from menu it was only 2:20, dim sum's til 3. That's no fun, the carts make it fun to eat dim sum. We decided to leave & when paying saw that the 2 tables were still EMPTY & that carts were still going around. Why were they still able to get dim sum but we couldn't upstairs. We got the shaft & WON'T be back there again. On top of that they tried to tell me they had a $15 credit card minimum which I told her I would've spent way more than that if they didn't stick us upstairs with no food!!

Best restaurant ever for Dim Sum

HK Golden Phoenix has been frequented by me and my buddies for 3 years. It's the only place we bring our out of town guests, and we enjoy it thoroughly. It'll cost about 6-10 dollars per person for enough food that your stomach hurts when you leave. I recommend being courageous and trying something new. The waitresses will come around with carts chock full of food just point to anything that looks good. I also recommend asking for some chilly sauce it's the shiat. This place is loud and the opposite of romantic, but it's really fun, sort of an adventure, well priced, and delicious!

    Seafood dim sum

Great dim sum but messy for a caucasian like me. Bring disposable bamboo chopsticks to replace their slick plastic ones.
