I heard all the great things about this place but I thought my dinner less than impressive.. The crepe was burnt and the filling was gross... If I had one more ingredient on the plate I was going to scream! The menu makes no sense... and really.. why would you even think about putting Fois Gras in gazpacho.

My sister son & I went to brunch there on Sunday . The food was out of sight. My son and I both had the pulled chicken over biscuit everything was nice and moist. I had the salmon with grits and speared asparagus. I don't like grits but this was delicious at the end of the meal my son said it was hands down the best he ever has tasted out of all the restaurants we had ever ate this was the best. I wholeheartedly agree. Absolutely delicious.

Oh, my goodness. What a delicious evening at Heirloom in Chestnut Hill. My friend and I decided we would eat ‘lightly’, arriving without reservations as the restaurant opened on a drizzly Friday evening, to see how we would be welcomed. In a word, ‘yes’. We were welcomed; praised for our salad and appetizer choices, and even catered to by having our shared light supper choices plated separately and beautifully for each of us to enjoy. The server had thoughtfully told us we would be receiving our salad and two appetizers as a three course dining experience. What a difference that made. The Bells Mill Winter Salad with persimmon vinaigrette was fresh and delicately dressed to an easy perfection and it was plated as a shared salad. We relaxed and ate. The light breads offered were just warm enough to invite and tempt our palates so that we HAD to eat the rolls. (The light meal was getting bigger, oh, well.) And so, our second course, seared diver scallop on Berkshire pork bell with candied squash served on arugula and flavored with a pistachio vinaigrette, took us to another height. My, my, my. We loved every bit, and our clean plates were evidence of that. The third course continued our upward dining joy, and yes, by now, it was pure joy. By plating the short rib and goat cheese ravioli with Washington cherry jus and pepper onion marmalade separately, it prevented scarfing down more than each of us was due since we were sharing. Maybe the kitchen knew just how much we would love this appetizer. Our evening ‘light’ fare was completed with two lovely chocolate bites of heaven brought to us as compliments of Heirloom after we declined dessert and coffee. The chef came by to chat and when we told him we were not having entrees but eating lightly, he agreed that one should follow her desires and tastes and encouraged us to return again. Yes, we will do that.

This restaurant is just what we need in Chestnut Hill. Fresh seasonal ingredients in unique delicious combinations. No bar food here. The prices are on the high side, but portions are ample for sharing . My partner and I shared several different dishes so that we could taste maximum variety, and everything was graciously split and plated in the kitchen. BYOB helped keep cost down. Staff was very professional and very pleasant. We look forward to returning.
