Fantastic sushi for New to Sushiers and Experienced

I am new to the sushi world of eating, so I guess I am not so "particular" and "critical" of the sushi like some of the reviewers here but from the sushi Ive had over the past 4 monthes...This place was for sure the best. The rolls are HUGE....compared to sushi planet and kingyo...in my opinion, The Hikaru on 2nd street was fantastic. I took my girlfriend there just out of curiosity and we struck gold. Ive browsed through all the review sites of sushi places and decided this place was worth checking out. Moderately priced...Drinks do infact have no free refills! so be careful of how many gallons of drink you put back...The atmosphere is good, we sat by the front window, but it looks like the other side (left side from entrance) is the nicest. The waiter was very pleasant and was literally there everytime we needed something...(he kept watch of our table respectively). I can tell you though...from reviews Ive read...My girlfriend and I always pick-up and check the food before we rush to our car and drive home...Just check your food if youre so concerned about it being wrong. We do this with every sushi place, simply because I am not a huge fan of all kinds of sushi and dont want to settle with something that I wont like.

$10 for soda for a couple?!

I used to love eating at this restaurant. Today we decided to order soda with our meals. We were not told that refills cost extra, but were repeatedly asked if we would like them. When the bill came and was more than expected, I realized we were charged $2 per soda. We could have bought 6 bottles of soda for that cost. On top of that the glasses were teeny, and filled 3/4 with ice. Go for the food, but never order soda.

    Poor Delivery Experiences

Inconsistent and late. Delivery depends when you call and who decides to answer the phone that day.

    ...

I agree about servers being unpleasant!

    Great views, Great Date night

Great space & great sushi! Definitely a must try for people who haven't been. I certainly plan on returning!

Good sushi, but staff can be jerks

I've gotten sushi here a couple of times and the last time I went, my credit card was charged for someone else's bill by mistake. The girl who scanned my credit card said that I didn't get charged the extra $50 that exceeded my bill, but I actually did. When I called and talked to a manager about having the money returned to me, he was extremely rude and had the audacity to yell at me as if the mistake was my fault. Last I checked, that's not the most appropriate way to interact with one's customers. I don't plan on returning.

    A Must Try

We've repeatedly tried all of the notable sushi restaurants in Center City (except the very expensive Morimoto) and Hikaru is clearly at the top of the list. It has never been disappointed both in terms of quality and service.
