I have eaten there three times. I love their Kyoto Chicken! It is extremely good. Their miso soup is good. The service is excelllent. I have eaten at the bar and watch the Sushi masters do there thing. Everyone there is really nice. If you can't use chopsticks, they don't mind giving you a fork. It is cozy. Great for a date or just to spend time catching up with friends. Only downside not a large varity of dessert.

I've eaten sushi all around the world and must say that the kitchen food is very good but the quality of sushi is not as fresh. The place is very nicely decorated but there needs to be a change with the music. I heard Nora Jones each time i've been there. And that is more than once.

I am no sushi expert, but the rolls I ordered here weren't the best I've ever had, not even close. However, the miso soup with tofu and edamame were delicious. Great, prompt service, and such a fantastic atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable, and I would probably go back to give the sushi another try.

For starters, it is a wonderful atmosphere! The place is squeeky clean, beautiful, the staff are so nice and helpful! The food is out of this world! Of course it is not cheap if you are going to have a full course meal, but it surely is worth every penny! I got it take out a few times and once they forgot my miso soup. I called then back and they were very apologetic - it wasn't a big deal at all, but they really went the extra mile - I went back to get it and they had my soup and some ice cream waiting for me! They even gave my my favorite flavor because they remembered me and my previous order. Now that is what I call great service!

I also love sushi, so when I saw that Hokka Hokka had opened in a building formerly occupied by the "Deb Shop" I was interested. I've since eaten there about 10 times. The lunches are wonderful and pretty inexpensive. The dinners are also great. Service is prompt but not rushed and very pleasant. I highly recommend that you support this place.

I was excited to read the the first review listed here - it echoed my exact experience. At first, just a smattering of fellow foodies but absolutely excellent food and the service was a delight - friendly, humorous and helpful is how I found our server. Having eaten sushi in every city I've travelled (many) across the country, I must rate Hokka Hokka as one of the best!

I really love japanese food in general, especially sushi. We started going to Hokka Hokka when it first opened. The first time we went, there was absolutely no customers except us.. but regardless the food was amazing (i love the spider and dragon rolls!). Then we went back a second time..and there were many more people and the sushi was even better! Now, we've been eating there for a while and the place is bustling with customers (you might need to make a reservation if you go on a saturday night). I absolutely love their sushi and their service is very fast as well---plus, unlike "osaka" which is also nice, the prices here seem a bit more reasonable and the restaurant itself is more family friendly in that it's well lit, spacious enough for larger groups, etc. But remember, anytime you go out to a nice place for sushi--be ready to spend some money because you can never get enough, especially at hokka hokka! I always feel pleasantly satisfied (and never over-full) after eating here :-) Definitely try it out!
