    Always Great

We have been eating at Hosteria da Elio since it first opened. We always leave feeling satisfied in every way. The space is charming, the wait staff is friendly and knowledgable about the menu and the food has never disappointed us. Favorites are the hand made by Elio whole wheat pasta , any sauce, and the talapia. The grilled calimari is also very tasty and unusual. If you are in the vicinity of Third and South Streets, don't pass Hosteria da Elio by. Tell Elio Michele sent you.

    Delicious food and friendly service

We ate on a Saturday night without a reservation. Service was outstanding--very friendly but not overly intrusive. The eggplant appetizer was (as listed above) outstanding. Our party had three specials (sweet potato gnocchi, bow ties with sausage etc., meat lasagna) and the gnocchi from the regular menu. Portions were generous but not overly so. The marinara sauce is just as I like it--savory rather than overly sweet or tart. We liked the sweet potato gnocchi--I tasted it and it also was not overly sweet which is my biggest problem with such dishes. I'd definitely go back and reorder any of the vegetarian dishes (I did not taste the meat ones but the carnivores in our group liked them!). My sister loved the flavor and texture of the portobello appetizer special.

    What could I say

Authentic Italian food. It was amazing, especially the eggplant for appetizer. For the main course I tried the Sweet Potato gniocchi which at first I was a little iffy but heaven I would highly recomend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. The service was very friendly they made us feel right at home.
