I used to live in Ardmore and I would go in Hykel's alot and Steve the bartender was the best. So is the rest of the staff. I moved out of Ardmore in December 2009 to Huntingdon Valley and the other week I was in Ardmore and decided to stop in my old hangout. I had the Hykel Hoagie which is still awesome which Sonny the cook made. I asked him about Franny the other bartender and Steve since another guy was bartending. Glad Franny is still there but he told Steve is no longer there has been gone since Nov. 2010. I felt sad he was a great guy and always refilled your drink as soon as it was empty. The other bartender was Chris, I told I used to be a regular and he was very nice and even gave a beer on the house which was cool. Its not the same without Steve but Hykel's is still awesome and it was great to be back after being gone over 2 years. The staff is still great and the food is excellent. I'll try to get back more often to Hykel's, a Main Line secret. There's nothing in Huntingdon Valley like it.

I like Hykel's and its has good food. If you go there be sure to sit in the back bar which is very nice and when the weather permits sitting on the back deck is great. You can have drinks and food and have pleasant conversation. The only down side is the old front bar which is very old and smokey and an the patrons who sit there are very loud and obnoxois. Its funny because when you're at the back bar or back deck its awesome and go to the front bar its so so and thats being nice. You wouldn't think it was the same place.

Hykel's has good food. The burgers, wings, hoagies are out of this world. I usually get take out there 3 times a month and Sonny and Anthony, the cooks who are nice always get my order right. While I'm waiting, I'll go to the bar which is right there by the take out section and have a drink or two and Chrissy who tends at the bar is very nice also. I recommend Hykel's to anyone who likes good Philly Style food.

Hykel's is the best in Ardmore. Very friendly, down to earth and the prices aren't too bad for the Main Line. What I like about Hykel's is that they're are 2 front entrances, the deli door and the front bar door. When you go in the deli door, there's a door way to the front bar which is nice. I talked to Steve the bartender and is really friendly and knows how to have a great conversation. On the left is the kitchen which is open and you can see the cooks working and being a part of the public which I like, not like most places where the kitchen is hidden in the back and you don't see the cooks. Go down past the take out beer cases and you see 2 steps and another doorway which leads to the new and spacious back bar which is nice also. I met 2 bartyenders back there, one was a young woman,a blonde, very attractive and friendly. Her name was Jessica and was very nice. The other was an attractive woman who was nice and very friendly and I think she said her name was Rosemary. Go out towards the back and there is the back deck. I like the deck. Its great once the warm weather is here, just sit back, relax, watch a game and have a drink. I always try to get to Hykel's when I can. I was in there on a Sunday awhile ago and met Joyce, the other bartender, a young brunette and she was very warm and friendly. Hykel's is a great little place and if anyone gets a chnce, stop in,you won't be sorry. You'll be around warm and friendly people, good food and drinks. Its off the main beat from Lancaster Ave, but worth the trip.

I've been to Hykel's several times, and it's a great laid back, unpretentious Main Line bar/restaurant. In the spring and summer, you can't beat the back deck for beers. And in the colder weather, you have your choice of the old school front bar or the back room, the latter being a good, quiet place to watch a game. Love the hoagies.

Hykel's is great place for food, drinks and just plain fun. I'm there a good bit myself and always get a Hykel Hoagie which is excellent. Speaking of the staff, Steve the bartender is excellent. I met him when he use to work at a place in Drexel Hill and I tracked him down when left to find he's at Hykel's. Since I've been going there, the rest of the Staff and the other bartenders are very friendly and so is the cook. I recommend Hykel's to anyone who happens to be in Ardmore. You definitley enjoy it and worth the trip.
