    The best dinner!!

I had to write this review, I had the most awesome dinner. Started off with the cheese tray creamy and wonderful, then the chicken with the peppers very tasty. The waiter was great and the check was way under our budget. We will travel to Philly just for this place Thank you to the waiter, and cooks you did a great job!

    Hidden Treasure

My wife and I wandered in on a whim one night for espresso and everything smelled so good we decided to come back for dinner. Sooo glad we did! The hardest working waiter in Philly handled every table in the room himself, and made everyone feel like his personal guest. A room that small could feel cramped, but instead it felt familial. And the food was fantastic. The same meal in New York would cost four times as much.

My boyfriend and I went last night and we absolutely loved it. Yes, the place is small (size of a living room and kitchen) but no big deal I thought it was nice sitting really close to people and conversing between tables. But I would not complain about it, I still was able to have private conversations. It was fast service, we got in about 7:45ish and left at 8:30ish but it did not matter, the food was great. Our bill was $42 and we ordered one special, one entree and we asked for regular water that cost $5 that is from Italy. We kept the bottle as a souvenir (yes we're that type of couple). But hey if $42 is a lot of money for a new experience, then just go to olive garden for their frozen heated up bread sticks and processed food.

Great Place to Eat Great Food

By far the best authentic Italian experience in the city. To those whiners who thought it too loud...go to Italy and eat...you don't know loud.....It's all about the food...

    Unpleasant Experience

Seemed like everything went wrong. My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a nice Italian meal. Unfortunately, I left angry and unsatisfied. It started with the waiter asking if we wanted Bubbly OR no bubbly water. I chose no bubbly assuming that meant tap. Nope, we were charged $5 for our water. Conniving! Other issues - the waiter literally yelled the specials to every new table that was seated (another table told him quiet down. no luck.), my food was bland, the menu said my meal was $15 but when the bill arrived, we were charged $16, and we weren't told the price of the lasagna special which turned out to be $19, one of the more expensive items. My boyfriend did like the lasagna but all in all I did not enjoy my experience here! Don't be fooled by the waiter!

    Good Concept; Poor Execution

I called on Tuesday for a reservation for four. I spoke to a young female. When Saturday arrived, the restaurant had no record of it. However, they managed to accommodate us at the prescribed time anyway somehow. The wait staff was pleasant and we exchanged some humorous banter. The appetizers: the mussels and the assorted grilled, fresh, and sauteed vegetables were quite good. Although the fish I ordered was slightly overcooked, that wasn't the most disturbing thing about the evening. Two entrees came out ten minutes before mine and five minutes after the third person in our party was served. We kind of ate in shifts. Then the noise level in this small place where the kitchen shares the space with the dining area was almost unbearable. And it wasn't only the level of conversation at other tables that resounded off the brick and glass, it was the steam and heat from the nearby stove that not only filled the air, but settled into your clothing as an unpleasant reminder of the evening after you left the restaurant. And I didn't mention the constant ear stinging clanging of plates next to the stove where the dishes were being stacked after being washed. My advice is go, but not on a Saturday night where they cannot accommodate the traffic. The food and prices are good, but they do not make up for the experience of a busy overbooked night.

    Rushed Meal

We have dined here previously and the food was great. We tried again on a Saturday night and the service was so rushed we barely had a chance to savor the meal and enjoy our friends. The waiter constantly removed plates before we finished to the point we had to hold them down. The owner badgered us to hurry as there were people waiting. We had a 7:30 reservation...sat down at 7:45 and was out the door by 8:30. Not a pleaseant experience!
