    What happened?

I've been a fan for years of this place until recently. After going in for lunch for the past few times I've had far from excellent service. The girl at the counter is rude and acts like everyone is obligated to tip her. She even asks sometimes if you want to leave a tip on the card for carryout. I don't tip for being glued to your seat. Aside from service, they're always out of things such as cannolis. They act like they're too busy playing around to wait on me. This has been going on for awhile now but its just getting worse. I hope someone saves J and J.

Good food at a great price

I am from NYC. Like any true New Yorker I love my pizza. Being new to this city, I was skeptical about trying anything but cheesesteaks. I'm left an advertisement on my door and I decided to give them a try. I must say I am happy with the food and I love the price. They have good family deals. I don't order anywhere else.

    Good Old Fashion Pizza Pie

I stopped at J&J on a trip to South Philly for a Geno's steak, but the line was long and I decided to try to find a great slice of pizza. I discovered J&J, and it was welcoming and looked like a traditional Pizza joint with real Italians behind the counter. I ordered a slice of tomato pie and a slice of cheese. With my first bit I was instantly transported back to the good old days when my Italian grandmother spent 10 hours making her own gravy.

    not good

I ordered a greek salad and a pizza, both were unappetzing. The pizza had no flavor and I ordered the greek salad with no anchovies. When my food arrived it seemed like someone put anchovies on the salad and then took them off. The salad still tasted like the anchovies were on it. Someone should show the Greeks how to make a pizza because their pizza is subpar. Would not recommend the greek salad or the pizza.

    Good, cheap eats

If there's one thing I've noticed about pizza places downtown is that they either seem to have good pizza or good sandwiches. J&J's breaks out of that mold and manages to do both well. The delivery promptly, charge reasonable prices, and have good hours. I highly suggest them.

    Good and not pricey

I've eaten here twice, both times were taken to go. First time I had a BLT(~$4) second time a cheesesteak(~$6). I thought it was very reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. What constitutes a good steak for me? the Cheese nicely melted through and mixed over the whole chopped steak, the meat not too greasy or fatty, and a good quality bun. After reading the other reviews, I think I need to try the pizza too! also, they take Credit cards and deliver, which is a plus for me.

    Great

On the corner at the 9th street market is J&J's. It's an attractive, newly renovated Italian pizza place. They serve everything a typical local pizza shop does but at reasonable prices. They have everything from the obvious pizza, burgers, wraps, wings, sides, panzarottis, salads, and pasta dishes. Though I'm now a vegetarian, I was always a fan of their burgers . They're made with real meat and at a generous size. For vegetarian friendly options, I enjoy their upside down pizza, panzarottis, as well as their eggplant parm grinder . They're near Geno's but I believe their cheese steaks are just as good and quite bigger for a cheaper price. It's a worthy stop if you're in the area.
